A couple weeks ago, I finally made another trip out with Jhari, Brandon and Crew. The goal for the day was to try targeting King Fish on alavive or better known as live bait fishing.
Although we surprisingly ended up getting some great looking live bait...The alavive fishing mission did not go as expected! We met up with some very rough waters on the North and slow bites...Not a good combo...
After trying a couple different things, we eventually ended up fishing in the Gulf of Paria...Banking for bottom fish...
Finally after struggling for the entire day, we were finally in some fish!

Whats ur recommended line size (15lb, 20lb etc ) for a la vive or live bait fishing an wat size an type of hook? Do u use any wire to attach to the hook?

For alavive...I recommend 10 to 15lb max...Hook size depends on the size of bait...But a #4 or 6 is what we have been using recently...and you must use wire when fishing alavive...

You need to use 10 to 15 lb test max to get good casting distance...

I actually was when we were in the rougher water...Then took it off in the calmer areas...But yes...I always recommend wearing it!

The whole of Trinidad is over fished...Unfortunately trawlers have really damaged our fishery...We are lucky for any fish we catch...

I tried bro..But the line is only 10lb test bro...Can't put too much tension...Or it snaps! And the hooks are extremely small as well!
