Let us know how the travel and managing your food goes, I’m on business travel the week of 7/8 I’ll be in DC and was wondering how I will manage my food too. This is so relatable!! But first, I’m so sorry that you and your son had to experience that. It’s so scary when we come that close to danger. 🥺And I know that feeling of the rush of adrenaline and then dealing with all those emotions afterwards. You have had a HARD week! It’s no surprise you wanted to lean back on food as your comfort. I totally understand that. I want to get to the place where I work out when I’m stressed but definitely not there yet! 🙈😂 You did great though because you’re aware of it which is half the battle! Proud of you!! Girl… I find it beautiful that you’re able to acknowledge times that are making you struggle and run to food. I think that’s a huge accomplishment… You have to remember that food might always be a comfort… Especially Extremely stressful situations. I think when you’re in Boston that you live life and enjoy yourself within reason… I’m sure you’re not gonna go crazy eating a ton of food because your body won’t allow you too. I think that you can eat and make. Thank you for being so vulnerable and allowing us to, see your journey.

Thank you for sharing your week. OMG what a stressful week.. but you pulled yourself through it. Your love for your family and working to protect them and guide them and get healthy is enough to earn sitting listening to the rain and much more!!! What I would say about eating out is that be prepared to “waste” food.. unless you can share a dish with your daughter. Remember your body is not a trash can no matter how much the food costs. I know you know all this.. just a reminder. You standing looking at the food in your pantry and turning around and taking your emotions and using them to support your son, was beyond powerful!!! I had tears. While , yes, we are emotional eaters… we sometimes use emotions as an excuse to eat maybe because we need to learn turn them elsewhere. you did this all week! I will remember your brave example next time I “need” to control an emotion!! Also, I wish I knew what that lady looked like… 🤬 Have a good week!!

KZfaq self regulation. Imo, being on glp 1 is the perfect time for emotional eaters to begin learning techniques for self regulation. Hard day at work but refused to take a drink bc I am spending too much for meds to undermine my effort. Did water aerobics for longer than usual while talking g to myself, followed by warm bath and deep breathing. Self regulation skills are critical for emotional eaters. Best wishes! ❤❤❤

Showing your strength in adversity! 4 protein chips were still protein, but I do understand what you mean by not wanting to anxiety eat. All of that good self talk about not eating when you are not hungry is working. You know your weakness and you applied strength to them! Way to go! You were stronger this week than you believe you are. This kind of talk is building a different kind of muscle strength. You are retraining your brain and strengthening that thought vs. impulse muscle!!! Next week in Boston will be another OPPORTUNITY to work on this with traveling and making choices. You've got this! Zepbound to the rescue! And I think you lost 1.6 pounds from last week so that is another success despite your emotional week!

Hey! I also welcome questions! Regarding my son, he is not on a weight loss medication. Sorry if I confused viewers. For a 10 year old, he is a big kid. 99% percentile for height and weight. But both of my biological kids were this way. Their dad is 6’3. People on his side are tall males 6’2 and women 5’10. I am the shorty (5’3)! 😅 My 10 year old is extremely active with physical activity. He is a state ranked competitive swimmer. He swims 6 days a week for 2-2.5 hours a day. For your niece, how old is she? Is she physical active (basketball, soccer, track)? Depending on her age, I would definitely suggest getting involved in a school sport. Just a suggestion. Definitely speak with her pediatrician. I hope this was helpful!
