Thanks for this. I'm going to make one with things I found in an old box that was my grandmother's, it has old letters and a post cards dating from 1907. Some of the letters were dated in the 1940's and early 1950's. I printed them out and put those away. I'm going to tuck the original ones in this journal.. I got the idea from Tina to do this and you for this journal. Blessings to you and your family.

Thank you for this journal video and your page binding method. I have a coworker who referred my craft work to a friend of hers. I made her friend a centerpiece for her birthday, now I want to make my coworker something to show my appreciation. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you for clear and well presented instructions. I really like the end product. From a purely personal aesthetic, I would sew the signatures to the spine before putting a cover on the the spine, this would hide and protect the thread. Thank you again for taking the time to put out a lovely video.

I really like the rolled hem. It's a little extra work but clearly worth the effort. I wouldn't have thought to double-sew the signatures, but in addition to adding strength as you said in a previous response, I like the thought of being able to make up a whole batch of signatures ahead of time. Thanks for the tips!

The thread you’re using is called crochet cotton. Looks like it’s also the “bedspread“ weight also known as size 10. I used to make doilies a number of years ago, but the crochet hooks I used quite often were a size 1.75mm and 2 mm, which are quite tiny. Can’t use that size anymore. 😉

Very beautiful paper❣My question is why would you sew signatures twice when that may compromise the paper and just add more work I haven't seen anybody do that I myself would not do that and I would skip that step

I decided to do it on this one and it is holding up very well. I don’t on all just if I am using a heavy cardstock and adding more than one signature. Makes it a little easier for my hands to hold. And I go through the same holes and have never had an issue.

A signature are the sections you put together for inserts. Hope that helps.

I absolutely love the spots on your arms, they are so cute! I think they are sun spots? I am a little too young to have as many sun spots just yet (I have only one so far) but I hope when I do they will be just as lovely as yours! (I hope this doesn't sound mean spirited or anything. I really do love them with my whole heart!)

This is a great journal. I like the "rolling" spine. Would it work to sew the signatures in the covers before putting the outside spine cover on? The sewing would be protected.

I like the rolled spine. Interesting how you first stitched each signature individually and then again when you attached it to the spine. What benefit or advantage does this have?

Ember Beck it just seems to make them stronger to me. I have always done it this way. It just helps, and if I decide to make my signatures replaceable I already have them sewn together.

A signature is a grouping of pages together to put in your journal/book you are making. When she said I'm gonna sew this signature together she was sewing the one group of pages she wanted together in her journal. Then she sewed another group and when done you typically sew all of the "signatures" into your book cover and Wa-La! You have a book/journal!!! Don't worry we all were brand new at this at one point!!! Have a wonderful week!

because sometimes I sew a bunch of signatures all at once and I don't add them to a journal until later. I have just gotten use to doing it this way. I said in the video, you could sew them all at once if you wanted to do it that way. sorry if I confused you
