Watchmaking Vlog Episode 41 - In this watchmaking episode I got to have and up and personal look at the inner workings and the watch parts of a handmade tourbillon watch, made by a master at his craft, watchmaker, Kaj Korpela.
99% of this handmade luxury tourbillon watch which is completely designed and made by Kaj, finished so well, that it looks machine made. It’s amazing to see this watch in the flesh, as a watch collector, it would definitely be a grail piece. It’s defeinely a Millionaire Certified Tourbillon Watch!

Well, is better in many ways, the finishing for exemple of geneva stripes is more smooth and finer than any modern Jager lecoultre

@@DeanDKthanks for the answer, about polishing it’s clear, it’s interesting how to turn the insert under the second hand. I have a problem with this, I can not find information about this anywhere. I also make watches, so I can wish you good luck and patience))

Bardzo jestem ciekawy, czy mechanizm mogłby pełnić rolę obudowy zegarka (po polsku koperty) wystarczyłoby zaprojektować odpowiednie mostki, dodać do nich mocowanie paska, szkiełka i dekla.

When pickling the silver so it goes white after time, does it harden like steel? Because I think a ring or wrist bangle that has been pickled white would be gorgeous
@DeanDK
@DeanDK 4 жыл бұрын
So I believe the process is heat to oxidise black, pickle, heat again - black starts to change, pickle, heat again - starts transition to white. and keep repeating the process.

Unfortunately he commented that the surface (raw) was very delicate :(
@SjengdeKameel
@SjengdeKameel 3 жыл бұрын
No, the white layer is a very thin and rather delicate layer of fine silver on the surface. The pickling merely extracts copper from the silver, adding to the brittleness/fragility of the silver layer. It will wear over time when exposed to surface contact/rubbing. But it is fairly tarnish resistant however.

What I hate is these videos are made as if someone with millions of subs made them but you don't have those subs, hope you get there some day.
