멤버중 평소 톤에도 아나운서 같이 아주 우아한 한국어 말투를 가진 멤버는 지유와 한동, 다미예요. (유현이는 강아지 모드가 아닐 때만 그것이 가능하고, 가현이는 귀여운 반항아 말투고, 수아와 시연은 개그가 많아서 진지할 때 우아함이 보여요😅)심지어 한동은 한국어가 모국어가 아님에도 원어민처럼 들리고 노래도 잘하고 멋집니다. 네, 외국인이 노래를 부른다는 이질감이 전혀 없이 발음도 발성도 표현도 아주 완벽하죠. 그동안 얼마나 피와 땀을 흘리며 열심히 노력했을까요? 생일 축하해요 얼음공주, 우리의 사랑스런 공주 전하! 한동!

When I looked at it again--> then members said 东D大人生日快乐！从加拿大飞到洛杉矶看演唱会真的值了，圆了我去年暑假错过的遗憾。大家有机会一定要去现场看一次🎉 Happy birthday wuli Dong-D sama! It was really worth flying from Canada to Los Angeles to see the concert. It made up for what I missed last summer. Everybody definitely need to see it once when you have the chance.

_thoughts:_ i speak a little japanese and very few words chinese. when i hear non-korean idols speaking korean, it almost always sounds very natural to me...partly because i've gotten used to it over the years. but that you hear them speak in their mother tongue is rather rare. however, there are a few persons that i could listen to for hours (or even days): _handong_ *&* _yuqi_ (gidle), when they speak chinese 🤍 _hitomi_ (former iz*one) *&* _lea_ (secret number), when they speak japanese 🤍 and _dita_ (secret number), when she speaks indonesian 🤍

Handong is my spirit animal for a reason!!! She reminds me so much of my wife and I've always had a major soft spot for her. Our Ice Princess has come so far in every single way. As painful as her stay in China and Deukae's separation that time was, she's grown so much thanks to that experience and so have their special bonds between each other. I've always admired Dreamcatcher's bonds with each other and how they are so whipped for Dongie and have supported her in learning Korean and also getting to know and understand their culture from the start. Happy birthday, DongDongie!!! May this new year of your life bring you, your family, both biological and found, all the best. ❤

Thank you for this video today, I was really in the mood for this, and your compilations never disappoint. It's actually pretty amazing how fluent she is, the speaking is one thing, but the comprehension of what you hear back is entirely another. And she knows the characters and radicals as well. 이 영상 볼 때마다 한동 너무 기특하고 예쁨. 언어 습득은 멤버들 영향도 있겠지만, 본인 노력이 필수적인데, 이 노력을 얼마나 했으면 노래에서는 외국인인 거 전혀 티 안 나고, 평소 방송 때는 날이 갈수록 발전하는 게 하루하루 보이니까.. 정말 얼마나 힘들게 노력했을까 싶어서 장하고 찡하고 그냥 대견함❤

Since I don't speak Korean, I think I'd find it hard knowing what's formal and what's not. It's not like Japanese where you add honorifics at the end of people or things, it seems more subtle. It's also not just speaking politely either. Plus, it seems Korean is geared towards knowing the age of whoever it is you're talking to and speaking accordingly, so it's not just knowing the words it's the hierarchy of whatever group you're in. AND to top things off if you're too formal it can sound rude, but if you're not formal enough you're rude. So it's like this crazy balancing act that I can't imagine being able to keep track of if you're trying to learn the language.

How many of these foreign idols are just completely obviously foreign when speaking Korean? Its hard to tell if people like Handong or Felix are noticeable or completely natural sounding after enough time.
