I downloaded beeper mini today and did not need to sign in with my apple id to make it work. All I was required to do was sign up using my phone number. There is the option to sign in with your apple id as well, but this is if you have an iPad or mac and want to use your apple ID to send and receive imessages as well. Overall Beeper Mini is solid and works as advertised. Blue bubbles for android.

I like the UI more than Beeper Cloud. Looking forward to seeing more chats integrated and for SMS/RCS. Hopefully they also introduce more app customization too

Did not work for me . When I download the app and try to get the free trial or pay it opens up a screen that says I need to fill out a form and the form goes directly to Google help screen.

I just signed up, and yeah, idk how, but they did it. No sign in required, just your credit card and phone number. I'll probably eat the $1.99 a month till apple implements RCS on their devices.

The green bubbles really do annoy me, especially with family and trying to share things so I usually move them to another app. This does seem like a sort of solve for that but I don’t need to use iMessage as much as I want to do the communication if that makes sense. If they are going to use a separate app just for me that seems like a silly compromise. I’d rather us all move to Facebook messenger or Instagram chat or something like that. 🐬🐬🐬

I'm with you on this, but it's not easy getting an iPhone user to give up the imessage app. Especially the older folks. It's work having them get use to another app. Telegram is a great replacement 👌

A couple years ago I travelled through Europe, and was shocked to see that no one uses iMessages or Google Messages (on the Android side) everybody seemed to use either WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger or Telegram, that's when I realized this blue bubble green bubble stuff was really dumb.

@@dnickolovBecause things like this exist and will continue to. The EU is also applying pressure to open up iMessage anyway. Apple might as well get ahead of things. The threat of Google buying up Beeper and integrating something similar natively into Pixels is there too. Apple could copy Beeper Mini and make iMessage a first party paid subscription. I’d be willing to bet that tons of people would use that in the US. Then they’d be the ones profiting from it instead of Beeper.

Apple will patch this out sooner or later. They just need to require all iMessages be signed with a hashed private key that can’t be generated on a non-Apple device.

WhatsApp and the other ones really compress the videos. They never look good. I don't care anything about Apples Ecosystem, I only care about sending high quality content. The most frustrating for me is I have an android phone and my entire family has iPhones and when we send pics and videos back and forth and they both ways they look like crap!!!!!! They don't want iMessage. They want a proper way to communicate with everyone no matter their phones. Apple is on purpose sabotaging cross platform messaging. They operate through segregation and bullying. Making Apples life difficult is a massive W. Eventually if they patch this in a year and it gets again reverse engineered they might even give up.

I have zero reason to use non Apple apps. I’ve been a long time iPhone user. I’m ok with friends on Android texting me. I’m not ok with an app trying to replicate something it isn’t. There green bubbles don’t bother me. iPhones make up over 50% of the U.S. market. Want iMessage and it’s cool features buy an iPhone .

The transmission protocol in iMessage is more advanced than standard SMS and RCS. and therefore, thanks to this application, android users will have an advantage without having to buy an iPhone. I don’t care that this is a replication of the original application, Apple could share its services with others and not take everyone into their iOS jail
