Bumblebee's been my favorite Transformer since the Eighties, so this will be a Day One buy for me. I am INSANELY jealous that you got to not only transform it, but handle the prototype.

Incredible that you build the car first and then transform it into the mech. That must be so satisfying. Also, love that they reused Prime's face piece and printed Bumble Bee's face onto it.

18:22 I remember that time because a Meme Samuel tweeted inspired me to recreate it. I usually wait a long time to buy a Set, to save some money, even if I love it. I got Optimus pretty much day one to recreate meme. Took two Vans from LEGO City Sets I had close and made them into shoes for him. "Nice Shoes!" "Thanks. They're Vans." It was the first time a tweet of mine "blew up" which is probably 100% thanks to Samuel for retweeting and commenting on it.

The prototype head with the bananas for horns would be great for a Cliffjumper retheme of the set, skipped out on Prime as I wasn't to interested with it being G1, but I might get Bee as he's a personal favorite and the price point is low enough to be in my budget. Just gotta budget out for the titan Tidal Wave from Hasbro first next month lol.

the blanket reveals are great. a little dramatic but hey, is there any of us that lego doesn’t hit us right in the heart and mind! especially you chris and your enthusiasm and knowledge for lego needs to be shared even more. Heck, you should be running that company but one startup at a time and then together we’ll take on lego lol. i actually have been in talks with them but took a really intense job promotion as you know so in 2025 will be siting down with lego again and feel i can really help them, even though ironically they do at least make money now and made some great changes to their business model over the last decade or so but still room to grow!

Understandable, but it looks like it's considerably less stable than Optimus (As noticeable when they moved the surface and Optimus stayed put with no problem, but Bee had to be saved from a fall). Optimus has the big advantage of having those really heavy legs and the friction rubbers. Bee's legs can't afford to have that much weight, and the feet are also doing a lot of heavy-lefting for cosmetics.

I can see people buying 2 Lego Bee's just to build the Prototype Bumblebee Because it may not be a good robot, but man I do love that Prototype design

im happy they are doing more lego transformers i bought the optimus day one and loved it and bumblebee who is one of my favorite characters in transformers media this is just amazing i hope the next one is either a Jazz, megatron or soundwave

Great video. The stock images didn't do this set justice. The face print is a win, and I guess the partsforming and gappy waist cannot be helped. There are many MOCs out there by fans, but to hv another officially licensed Lego x Transformers product is something we could only dream of growing up

This isn't a bad set by any means, but I do feel they could've done better with the rear. The rear not only feels super rushed, but just looks off in general with the tiny line of a rear window and that odd looking indent. This set has many upsides, but funnily enough I think some of the prototypes nail it better than the official. Legs definitely fare worse though, I could excuse Optimus not having knee joints but I really can't see why they wouldn't have been able to make it work with Bee. Overall I think I'll hold off on buying this one until it comes on sale

may i ask seems optimus have already released on the market a while ago and bee lego has been revealed, if adding knee joint may affect the stability of the model? im bit curious because all the lego sets of these two characters doesn't have knee articulation on their sets? thanks

I had omtimus, and while he was a good model, I think I'll prefer this set. I think what he said about building the car before yhe robot really shows, as I think the car looks a lot better than optimus did in truck mode

Why the partsforming ?

I have LEGO optimus prime but not sure if I should get LEGO bumblebee or not.

That shameless parts-forming with the “jetpack” is very disappointing but I am willing to accept it cuz one, at least it goes through more of a transformation to be a jetpack (already a step up from the mainline earthrise’s mold literally-just-a-the-back-of-a-car “shield”) and two, I think you could actually leave on the that part, I’d make him a bit dumpier but I wouldn’t mind because it is actually, in fact more accurate to the G1 toon model that way!

Idk watching the designer fumble around for several minutes to transform this really makes it lose some of its appeal in my opinion. I actually like the car version of bumblebee but the mech version of him is fairly lacking especially in those legs. Granted it’s impressive they’re able to make these work in an capacity but still
