i definitely think you should check out Rocky (Boxers ver. since that has an mv attached). It was released originally in the same album as Deja Vu but was rereleased as a title track for their Japanese comeback! It’s also their first title track produced, composed, etc by Hongjoong! Definitely one of my favorites ever and i think a different sound still from what you’ve previously heard! cyberpunk is one of my favorites as well, but there’s no mv for it and it’s a bit more (?) simple in sound, but i think definitely worth checking out in maybe an album review of The World: Movement!

Some context for Hala Hala. This song was released about 3 months after their debut and was part of their 1st comeback. Their company decided to cover their faces because they wanted people to focus on their talent as performers and not the visuals that kpop often relies on. It was a revolutionary and bold move for an upstart group that no one had ever heard of. The video was viral amongst international kpop fans and a lot of people ended up discovering and falling in love with them as a result, me included - LOL. The fact that it still holds up well 4 years later says a lot. I think it also underscores just how difficult it is for groups from smaller companies that they have to resort to such a "gimmick" to get exposure in the industry since only groups from the Big 4 (Hybe, JYP, SM and YG) usually get attention right out of the gate. This is one of the things that makes Ateez an unusual case. They are one of the few groups from an unknown company that managed to rise up with their big company peers in this generation and carve out their own unique lane. Even so, there are still people to this day who are just now discovering them, whereas their big company peers are already widely known just by virtue of being from a well-known company (nothing wrong with that as it's just how the industry and the world works). Being from a small company means having to hustle hella hard for every little ounce of exposure and that's something Ateez has done for the last almost 5 years. They've also been incredibly consistent with putting out great music and stellar performances which helped people learn of them through word of mouth. They are finally seeing the fruits of their hard labor and I couldn't be happier and more proud of them as a fan. They've been killing it and it's so nice to see them get the recognition and respect that they deserve you know? Anyways, the companion song to Hala Hala is Say My Name so I hope you react to it next. Say My Name is my all time favorite Ateez song and I never get tired of hearing it! Thanks for another great reaction guys!

I was also blown away by their performance and energy. Though seeing them perform Say My Name, especially after the allegations of Vata (the person who created the dance to New Thing by ZICO) stealing the iconic walk move and claiming he created it, was probably the most pissed off and powerful performance of it I've ever seen

Yes, 4 years ago and just three months after debut 💕 so definitely check out both debut songs because you will see that these boys just never missed, even at the beginning! And what’s even more impressive with Hala Hala for me is the fact that with visuals being such a big thing in this industry, ATEEZ chose to cover up their faces and ‚force' people to focus on their performance instead. Very bold and cool move!

I personally think that the point of the hala hala video is to mask their identity as individuals and see them for the music and performance. Which is very opposite of the whole kpop concept where visuals play a very important part. Recently Ateez has also mentioned that they are not thriving to produce a hit song which proves once again that they do not follow the traditional industry guidelines. Hala hala was ahead of its time and really showed ateez’s standard

I definitely wouldn't mind if you just react to everything in their discography (including their 🔥 solo covers). I love seeing people appreciate their talent! Their World Movement Ep 1 album is one of the best albums in kpop I think. Edenary production is so insane combined with Ateez flawless vocals and rap line and all round skill and dedication, combined with BbTrippin choreo!!!!! Nobody has debuted like Ateez (ok let's not count the lower budget mvs at the start because of their small company as they more than made up for that in skill and performance). Love the commentary where you guys even notice the smaller details on how the song is produced "differently" vs the mainstream kpop. And how everything ties in. For real, HALA HALA is like a disruption (in a good way), and everything about it, the song, the choreo and even the styling/outfit, is meant to be different VS mainstream kpop. HALA HALA had that IMPACT even if it's just a B-SIDE! Not even a title track (and looking back, I think they even made it like that to send the same message). Everyone thought it was a title track back then!

First things first, before I'm even out of the Intro.... you're going to need A LOT more than 9 lives to deal with ATEEZ. These guys are dangerous. Be a vampire for ATEEZ. It'll be better for your health overall, and then you can blend in with them when watching the Halloween performance of "Deja Vu" 😂 Second... that moment at the end when basically every reactor thinks Wooyoung killed everyone, not realizing they were a suicide squad and broke their own necks. I agree that every aspect of this song and performance fits. It's perfect synergy -- the music doesn't drown anything out, the vocals don't overwhelm, and the choreo makes you feel the beat as if your own heart is beating to their drum. It doesn't even allow you to be too distracted by who is where in which formation, because of the costuming (at least until the hats are tossed off). There are clues, of course, but it's not so blatantly obvious that you're practically forced to pay attention to the performers instead of the performance as a whole. The DP for this is awesome because they're in comfortable clothes and it's fixed cam. Moving on from this performance being synergetic, ATEEZ as a group are definitely a single unit and its members each have a distinct style when performing. They can and do dance as a unit in perfect sync with matching lines, but they're also known to tweak base choreo in a way that gives ATINY a better performance. San, for instance, tends to put a lot of thought into specific points within choreo so he can interpret it in a way that he feels will convey the intended emotion, message, or theme of the song itself. Live stages often result in close-up fan service moments (think winks, finger hearts, etc.), sometimes planned and sometimes just when they see a fancam focused on them. I love how it blew your mind when you realized when this was released. Everything they've done has been of such great quality, even the very first videos where they had hardly any budget at all, complete with having to use free locations for filming (I know this is true for their debut MVs, "Pirate King" and "Treasure" are shot in Morocco, and at least one fan guide points out that there's a tourist caught in frame at one point in "Treasure"). As you move forward chronologically in the releases, the music gets even better (and how? seriously) and the MV quality improves because of higher budgets (which means availability of higher quality resources). Because of that point ^^ right there, I love when reactors go through the MVs from beginning to end and really get a full picture of how the guys have grown into who they are now. It's something that wasn't a part of my own journey because I fell in love after 1 song ("Answer") and started mass-pulling new songs after hearing 2 others ("Cyberpunk" and "New World"). If you'd rather jump without a real plan and just experience them in no specific order, though, then I don't have a favorite to suggest but will instead just give a warning... ATEEZ doesn't stick to one genre or color, so don't expect them to sound the same when trying new songs (there's a massive difference between "Guerilla" and "Eternal Sunshine", "Turbulence" has another feel completely, and so on; even a selection of songs off a single album may offer similar flavor without sounding alike). Although, I suppose I do have one suggestion, because you were so wowed by Jongho's high notes: "Black Cat Nero", the Halloween performance video (the live from Immortal Songs is awesome but usually requires filtering to avoid a block; the performance vid is on their YT page, though, and includes a nice surprise). It's also worth checking out what he does in Kingdom: Legendary War, for the performance called Symphony No.9 "From the Wonderland", but I suggest watching the MV for "Wonderland" before doing that version so you can see the difference and also appreciate Mingi's rap part (which is missing from K:LW because he was on hiatus at that time). I sincerely apologize for this novel, but apparently I had more to say than I thought I did. That happens, especially when ATEEZ is the topic.

I think they also use a cowbell which sounds like it wouldn't fit but it totally does! I think they used the masks and matching outfits to have us focus on the moves, and the way you guys broke down the music, the staccato beats, made so much sense in this case because I think their moves really accentuated that, those marching steps an foot work, it worked so well together. it was made with these fits for that exact same reason! unless you actually stanned them at the time, you couldn't be able to tell which member is which, basically making you like them for their actual talents instead of how they looked like! it immediately makes you feel intriged, mainly for new fans and people who just listened to thing song randomly at that time, it made them want to know who the talent under the mask was

I would suggest listening to any of their ballads to truly see the vocal range of this group. I will always plug Mist because it’s my personal favorite, but Be With You … Turbulence … Treasure … Aurora … Sunrise … you literally cannot lose.

Your reactions are wonderful! Ateez and BTS are my ultimate favorite Kpop groups...that said I love so many more! Saw Ateez live this past November with my daughter. It was a moment we will never forget. In addition to their MV's you should check out their dance practices and live performances. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

Hala hala birthed many atinys (including me) and that's solely based on their performances and voices in this performance.ateez be telling us that we must focus on their performance and not on their faces in ateez lore, HALA-TEEZ wear masks to hide their faces from the android guardians bcz they were labeled as the "black pirates" of the strictland government and they were after them and want to held them captive bcz they were revolting against their oppressed government which basically prohibits emotions and any form of arts. HALATEEZ want to break that rule by revolting using their "PERFORMANCES" to wake up people that was brainwashed by the android guardians, the lore character who want to capture halateez

Can you just start from the beginning (Pirate King), and review all the double title tracks for each comeback? Plus the dance proactice for each one? Then we will suggest to you live versions as you go along....Kingdom performances and Immortal Songs performances are also essential, you see :P Their music videos are so fantastic. Their live performance will blow your mind. If there's a live option, always watch the live option.
