How to replace the water and ice filter on the Whirlpool French Door Side-By-Side Fridge. After replacing the filter, you will need to dispense at least 4 gallons of water to get rid of the carbon in the filter plus any air before using it. It's recommended that this filter be changed every 6 months or so. The Fridge will chime and alert on the screen.

Actually.... it is also a good idea to empty your ice maker reservoir too. That ice may contain the old unfiltered water. I empy mine when I replace my filter in my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator :)

Thanks again man. I needed this to see how water to run through the filter. It was all dark and mirky but I thought it was good after it turned clear. But then, I thought to myself, I better see what Handy Hudsonite has to say about that ...lol. You covered it man. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for sharing this, i was looking on youtube to know how to change my airfilter for days, i even bought the wrong filter cause the videos i've watched showed the old whirlpool version, not the stainless one. So i will definitely look on what kind of filter mine use now and buy the right one on Amazon! Thank you again!
