One of these with a smaller buttonhole would be useful on the pegboard in my sewing room, for holding a few things that can't be hung from hooks!

I LOVE it! Going to make for my mom in assisted living to use on walker and/or wheel chair!
@sistertam
@sistertam 4 жыл бұрын
I just want to say, I made this and put a strap not a buttonhole and gave to my gma in an assisted living facility. She puts it over the arm of her wheelchair. She is 98 and needs the ease of putting her Kleenex and such in and getting it out easy. Arthritis makes it hard on her. She has worn it out and now I will make her another one. But I will be making more for her to give to her new friends in there. Thank you for the pattern.

great Idea! How large was the strap? I thought I could make a few just to donate and work down my stash.

Love these. I could see them on the coat rack or on a peg shelf as well. For my grandchildren, i would probably stitch them by machine and add glitz to the outside.

Yours are my favourite videos as you are a good teacher and I find your voice so calming when I am stressed. I am recovering from breast cancer and like everyone have been feeling trapped in the house by coronovirus shielding measures. I feel inspired now to recreate a sewing space and try some of your projects to help my well-being. Thank you Laura ❤️

First I want to say thank you for sharing, I love this project. I like the fact that you can make two at the same time, great when someone comes to your home and likes and wants yours. Just whip out the other one, they get one and you can keep yours. The first time I made mine I bonded two colors of felt together, squared my fabric and Heat n bonded bias tape around the edges except the bottom and cut it in half. I then folded the bottoms one over the other and machine stitched the bottom with a decorative stitch. I didn't want mine to be reversible I just wanted two colors showing. I will be making more, they make great gifts.

I loved this project! Thank you for all the great pointers! I'm going to try it with my craft club I run with high school students. I topped stiched with a fancy stich and then added a large button for two reasons - one for decoration and 2 for function, just in case there's something to actually grab and go :-) i wish i could take 100% of the creative "ah ah" moment, but it was my boyfriends suggestion. I look forward to trying more with my club!

BUT, I am always placing mail on the stairs for him to take up to his room, and NOW you've given me a cute idea to use this to hang on the stair rail for me to place the mail (cuz he NEVER picks it up off the stairs! lol)

LOVED this!! I put a large whimsical button where the sides overlap, so I can also button it closed to take with me! (Also helps keep the over lapping sides together 😉) GREAT for taking with me when I travel - I can hang it on the motel room door, and bingo - my room key and car keys are always ready for me when I leave the room!! And BONUS, the bright pocket reminds me to take my room key as soon as I grab the door knob! 😊

You might also use an old brooch or pin on the front for a decoration and since it can be taken off it can still be reversible. In that way we can honor those items handed down to us instead of just keeping them in our jewelry boxes.
