I transcribed Hank Garland's "Hank's Dream" by request! It's one of my favorite tunes, it even inspired a tune I wrote called "Bullseye" Check it out if you have a minute!
• The Shootouts - Bullse...
Dabbling in the Country/Blues/Jazz with this one.
The chord progression is
A: I- IV9- I- ii- V-I- V
B: IV9 - I - VI7 - II7 - V
Almost a simple blues with a couple interesting alterations, hence the country/jazz feel. The treatment of the IV chord brings a different sound. Just by adding a 9th to a IV7 opens up the tune to a more lush harmony then a typical blues. The ii - V & sometimes iii - vi - ii - V turnarounds push it towards that direction too. Hank plays every change in the B section, voice leading every melody note to the next chord. If you learned anything or just enjoyed the video please consider throwing it a like & subscribing!
