I love how many 3-4 syllable words you have in this rap. I wouldn't expect anything less.

Since there seems to be a good deal of confusion about what cultural appropriation is (and people telling me that it's a good thing, and people who say it's a bad thing are somehow racist) here's a comment I left in reply that's now gotten buried. --- Dispersing and modifying culture is the entire foundation of the human species, so yeah, it's a necessary part of technological, culture, artistic, and societal progression. Appropriation is doing that in a way that silences or oppresses. You take something that a culture has created for your own and then ignore their contribution and even their existence. See, as an example, the creation of rock and roll by black musicians that we literally do not know the names of. Their music was great, but their skin was black. When white people started doing it, suddenly it became very popular. The creators of the culture are not allowed to benefit from their creation and thus are denied a potential path out of marginalization. I think a lot of people here these words and think they're being accused of being evil. But in fact when you have a dominant culture, marginalization and appropriation is what will happen naturally if not recognized and controlled for. That does not, however, make it right. Which is why we should recognize it and credit marginalized people for their contributions to culture, and allow them to benefit from those contributions...not just use our cultural dominance to take over the new thing and completely divorce it from its creators and their intentions.

I sincerely hope Hank doesn't do fewer silly things. Less rapping, okay, but the silly things are the best parts.

This might come off as a simplistic comment, but sometimes simple is the most powerful tool you can utilize. I love these sillier and light-hearted videos. The heavier ones are interesting and informative, but sometimes I just want to get silly and watch silly things especially when presented by smart people.
