In 1989 worked the parking lot for fan fair . As I was directing traffic Hank can through in his light Blue Chevy pick up that said across tailgate " a country boy can survive" he said how you doing . I will remember that for the rest of my life

I cannot believe ive never run upon thid before now! Well i just rocked it all by myself, singing every word to his songs and remembering the great times at all his concerts i attended, 11 that i can remember and for sure another i made it to but im pretty fuzzy about hearing any music lol. Ah the good times ive had with Hank jr. From driving all the ole back roads having too much fun, throwing keg partys at different farms to just hanging out with my rowdy friends, Hank Jr was there he was my constant A big Thank you from this country girl who has shared h😅er love for your music starting with my nieces and nephews, later my kids and any other poor soul who needed to hear real music, country music from Hank himself. My Daddy played with hank jr down in Florida at river ranch in 1985 and hank jr got so drunk he walked across the hot coals in the fire they had built. His manager Kilgore and my granddaddy toted hank jr to Kilgores truck and drove him out of river ranch that night. My daddy told that story until Angel's took my daddy home in 2006. Hank Jr is a legend. I grew up listening to him and Waylon. This was a well deserved tribute. I watched this when it originally aired and I'm so glad I got to watch it again, good times.

I think Hank is really inspiring because his father was a massive star, and he was able to make his own name in the industry while still honoring his father. That video he made in the 80’s that was able to mix himself with his father was insanely impressive for the time. Could only imagine how the two could’ve performed together.

My Daddy may he rest in heaven and the memories of all who love him, always told me I was pretty smart for a country girl whenever I made good grades in school to keep me humble.. This was my first time ever watching this ,I really enjoyed it ,I love Hank who doesn't right. I saw him in concert here in Louisville. Ky. I bought one of his licenses plate that read. "If you don't like Hank Williams you can kiss my Ass " And mel Kilgore signed it for me back stage. I really enjoyed watching this. Alan Jackson yes he killed it. But Toby Keith did a great job 👏 too. To me though they all was great 👍 you go Hank keep it up . God bless you man 🙏❤👍

A country boy can survive has a whole new meaning in 2020. I was raised on Hank and Hank jr. Looking back on Hank jr now in these troubled times, I'm realizing how my opinion can be changed. I was one of those who got stood up during his more troubled times. We need good ole boys now, more than ever.

This was a star studded show made just for the man that blazed his own trail in the world of music. At the time everyone wanted the second coming of Hank Williams and Bocephus had something else in mind. He kicked the door down and used it as a stepping stone to his own style of renegade stardom and I am so glad that he did. Hank Jr. is a master at letting his music tell the story. It reminds me of another one that was so good at saying it in a song and that was the late great Ronnie Van Zant. Slightly different styles of music but both made you want to kick up your heels with their music.

I did not see this when it aired. This was really a good show honoring "Bocephus." I liked how he acknowledged each guest, fellow entertainer, and friend. I feel his Daddy would be very proud of him. I like how he has been his own person, he has entertained how he wanted to entertain. If someone that knows Hank Jr. and sees my comment, please tell him my story (my Daddy's story) about his Daddy. My Daddy worked at a service station in Nashville on Broadway Ave. when he was very young. Hank Sr. would stop at the service station, while there he would ask the owner to open up the Cocoa-Cola machine, to treat whoever was there. His Daddy did not forget where he came from. He would have little "Bocephus" with him sometimes, who he loved very much. My Daddy had seen Hank Sr. perform several times in Nashville. He would say, "He sure put on a show." I can't believe I haven't seen this before. I come through Georgiana Alabama a couple days ago. I always go through there when I go do to Florida to visit my son and his family and I live in GA. I always pass by the Hank Williams Museum off 65. I always think about Hank Williams Jr. too and how how it all got started. This was so great!! I'm glad I found it. I have always thought Brad Paisley looks like Hank Williams Sr. I'm glad he was there to sing A Tear in my beer. They were all great. Thanks for sharing this video. 👍🤠❤

I'd have to say that A country boy can survive is my favorite song by Bocephus. Because I've been in trucking for over 35 years now. And I'm still driving to make a living. I really enjoyed this concert when it happened. Congrats to one of the most iconic singers in history of music also.

A funny story: My mom seen Hank Jr twice she told me and back in the year 1979 she was in the front row of his concert but she was also 8 months pregnant with my oldest brother Josh, During one of his songs her back started to hurt so she got up and turned her body to right to stretch it out. Well Hank Jr thought she was leaving so he stopped the song and asked my mom where she was going? Mom told him nowhere my back just hurts so I'm just stretching it out.

My daddy and I listened to Hank Sr. ...he sang his songs to us kid's. Then I discovered Hank Jr. And was blown away....turned my daddy on to Hank sr.'s son!! How cool was that? Loved all the music and am still listening to Hank Jr. .This is an honor to watch him being honored!!! Hope there's more music to come from Hank Jr. 'S son. Much love and respect!❤❤❤🎉🎉😊

My Dad looked like Hank. 12 years ago I didn't know who Hank was, but sooo many people said your Dad looks Just like Hank! I watched Hank on TV to see who he was....Not only did he look like Hank but same mannerisms, my Dad played the fiddle and Harmonica and that's where I couldn't believe it. I went to Tennesee on a Senoirs tour bus with my parents 12 years ago and even Johnny Cashes sister said.... you look like him but I am his God Mother so I know it's not him. Many other stories to cherish, but my Hank passed away this last March and the music died. Watching this has me in tears as I can't stop watching. wheww!! It's my Dad all over again.

Being this blues man all alone is getting way old. Let alone being cuffed on dirt roads. But a country boy can survive. Growing up a little gangster in and little country wasn't cool at all. I'm just saying I guess that I know singing these songs helped me alot locked in a cage treated like dog. Helped me make threw my addictions my habits and self destruction. All my buds were guys, I'm a gal. Was drafted to go to Hank,Jr concert @ FOX THEATRE/Atlanta because I was the "designated driver". THANK GOD..I HAD THE BEST MUSIC EXPERIENCE EVER...and I did'nt even like country!!! Converted that night! WOW.
