My dad was a dinosaur. I used to bug him about not keeping up with the times....he loved his old country, his old movies, ect... Now I love the same old country music and movies he did. He told me the stories when he was a kid. No electricity, no plumbing, shitting in chamber pots and if you didn't hunt, fish or grow your own food, you didn't eat. Just yesterday we had a power outage for a whole 5 hours or so. It was the best time I could remember in a long time. The first time I enjoyed absolute peace and quiet in years!

Hey man them ain't high heel sneakers And they sure don't look like cowboy boots And that ain't rock and roll you're playin' And it sure ain't country or rhythm and blues You're singin' a song about making love to your drummer Well gay guitar pickers don't turn me on And we don't all get into Donna Summer Do you happen to know any old Hank Williams songs 'Cause you see I'm a dinosaur I should have died out a long time before Have pity on a dinosaur Hand me my hat, excuse me man, but where's the door It used to be, I had a lot of fun in this old hang-out We'd get stoned at the jukebox and stay out of fights Now and then, we'd light a little smoke in the truck out back (Aww) Then a little old Jim Beam and we'd get right And you know these flashin' lights sure make me dizzy And this disco's very strange to my ears It looks like they've turned the Longhorn into a spaceship And I'll be leavin' just as soon as I finish this beer 'Cause you see I'm a dinosaur Should have died out a long time before There's a whole lot of dinosaurs So give us our hats, excuse me man, but where's the door Get us our hats, excuse me man, but where's the door

Ya know, I'm 14 and I love all Hank Jr/Sr songs and many other artist such as j.cash and g.jones etc. I'm allways being picked on for liking old country, people just don't understand why I like this music, it's real and none of this fake crap like today, these artist sang about their lives and everything going on around them. It isn't fake country singers like today, that always in it for the money, like if u agree.

It's nice to see so many people of all age groups that can still enjoy such music. Being only 17 years myself, this is still the best kind of music. This should be brought back rather than modern music.

One of my favorites since it came out.I guess I can relate. The old bar where I hung out back in the 80's with Hanks Bama Band is now being converted as a historical site. Looks like to their turnin the longhorn into a spaceship. Thats progress, at least they didn't turn into a parking lot. Them wus good ole daze with good ole boys, like me.
