My partner was shot and killed less than 2 weeks ago.... his name was Mareo Bell. He gave his life protecting people alone in a gunfight with over 100 rounds fired. We are High Threat Security Officers. His Badge # was 104. Love you brother. Got it from here.

My niece is a Deputy who was murdered in the line of duty May 6, 2023 when a POS 2x felon shot her when she was trying to help him out of a ditch. The first time I heard this song was at her service and it was such a searing pain. I have listened to it over and over, for it captures the unfathomable grief our family is experiencing. Badge 8835. 3/3/2023 Received a call from work calling me in for the next day to relieve the current shift. One of our officers was down. This brings me to tears every single time. I’m a dispatcher and the officers are all MY officers. The same goes for my firefighters and medics. I’ve heard “shots fired” and I’ve heard the sound of an officer in a physical fight when his radio was bumped. I’ve also heard a “mayday” from my firefighters and the sound of my medics screaming for police due to a combative patient. Thankfully they’ve all made it home.

I know your comment is over a year old so I doubt you will see this ....but you need to know that there will always be people that will stand beside y'all. It's easy for people to say stuff like "they signed up for the risk" or "its their job, they aren't doing anything special" but they are wrong. You signed up for a career where you never know if you are making it back to your family at the end of each day. They don't stop to think about situations where someone that intends to harm an officer makes a false 911 call to set a trap.

There is so many other responders suffering because of criminals such as the one that took their life. We need to pray for all of them.

Our heroes have suffered at the hands of criminals that should have never been on the streets. I pray for them daily. Minnesota truly is not what it used to be , as well as the whole country. This song really hit home. My husband was a Military police officer, he not only worked with the military , but also with the Canadian Border Patrol and local law enforcement. At his funeral, there were miles of lights from patrol cars ( U.S & Canadian), fire trucks and ambulances. To this day ( 20 years later), I still tear up when I hear a 21 gun salute.

I’m a former LEO. This song hit home in so many ways. Not just for me, but my wife as well. With the current state of the world I could no longer do it. My wife and family is my priority. Love this song, as sad as it is. I’m so humbled by Hannah’s cousin’s sacrifice, and her tribute to him. Officer Ellis is 10-42. Rest In Peace my Brother. From one road dog to another, I’ll see you other the other side brother.

My husband is an LEO. Last night as he was leaving for work, we were angry with each. And for the first time in years we didn’t kiss each other goodbye and do our I love you’s. I heard this song for the first time this morning. I sobbed. When he comes home he’s going to get his hug and his kiss and his I love you. Life is too short. I live in fear of that knock all the time. Thank you 💕

Pollice officers put their lives on the line every day along with other first responders, but police officers are hated so much. if there were no police officers rime rates would be really bad. police officers do good things and I support them. sure some cops od bad things put 99% are good honest people who help people out and stop crime and do good. your husband is an amazing person and i wish him luck. he is risking his life for his community and will always be honored dead or alive along with every police officer. may you both life a long health life and may your child grow up do live a good life and be a good person like your husband. may god bless you and your husband

I would like to say something about police officers. And for those of you who are police officers and read this. Don't be humble. You men and women are hero's. Nothing less. You get up every day and strap on your uniform fully aware that any encounter could cost you your life. Yet you are willing to lay it all on the line for complete strangers. You men and women stand for all that is beautiful about this country and I salute every last one of you for your service. You are incredible human beings by every sense of the word. I currently serve this great country in the army. But for the truth to be told. These men are the true hero’s.. every day they get up put that badge on knowing they will be ridiculed hated, sometimes loved. But also putting their lives on the line for people they don’t know. It’s what I think makes a true American. The person willing too give his life for those he didn’t know.

Dakota Thoms we are a very judgmental people. Reality is sometimes missed. But at the end of the day Americans will help other Americans hell even non Americans if they need it. It’s just our culture. But we make mistakes a judge the officers based off the few mistakes some made or bad things they have done.. so I agree with your statement

Regarding the people shot... police have dangerous jobs and most of hem shoot in self defense since there are so many violent criminals and offenders out there. Think about if you an officer in that situation... you probably would have shot also. You don't know how it feels to be a police officer, to go through the harsh training, and how worried their families might be about whether or not they will come home or not. Just think about it, no need to reply with a harsh comment. I"m only stating my opinion..

Hi I am from Germany and have no one in the police, armed forces or fire department. But the song still moves me a lot . Because, in my opinion, men and women around the world are still not thanked enough for their willingness to make sacrifices without taking their own health or lives into account. God bless them all.

Even though for me it isn't personal, this song makes it personal. If there's one song in the world which confirms music is a spiritual force, it's this one.

😢 Beautiful. Thank you for creating this beautiful song. I know it’s been many years but sending you heartfelt thoughts and prayers. I listened to this for the first time today 2/28/24 as it was played at the memorial service for the 2 fallen police officers and 1 paramedic killed in the line of duty in Burnsville MN on 2/18/24 while responding to a domestic child abuse. The memorial service is aired on KZfaq and was on TV. The procession is going on as of this writing.

I tell my rookies that there is nothing out here worth them handing your loved ones a folded flag. Fight hard, fight smart and win the damn fight....that night those words came screaming over the radio "OFFICER DOWN! OFFICER DOWN!" and I heard one of the strongest and bravest men i ever known voice crack as he sobbed over the radio........this song has tears pouring down my face. First rule of police work- go home at the end of your shift. Second rule of police work- make sure your partner goes home. There's no take backs out here and there's so many now that rejoice when one of us falls. Win the damn fight!

Over the last 4 years my department has had to hear that final call twice. It ain’t easy losing friends regardless of how they died. Especially once you get into the family that is the fire service or law enforcement or EMS, it is even harder.

Made me think of that ambush a couple months ago. Two officers ambushed on their lunch break, both were taken to a hospital. Rioters cheered for their deaths outside while a little kid prayed their mommy would pull through. Pisses me off there are people that sick in the head

I am so sorry. I was a volunteer first responser (medical), so I understand what can happen to the people who respond when someone calls 911. I know what it's like to lose someone like that, and there's just no way to wrap your head around it. It's just a heavy pain you're given unexpectedly, and there's no answers, no solace, no absolution.

My dad was a corrections officer for 10 years and a fireman since he was 18. The amount of fireman and officers that have became family amazes me. Throughout my life I have lost track of how many funerals I have been to between law enforcement and fire. My dad and I don't get along but seeing him lose another brother that has become family hits all of us. For them family isn't blood family I the ones who have ur back and risk their lives to protect their families and other people families

My brother was a 911 dispatcher. He died last year in December. He was just 23 when he died. I just now found this song and it’s so sweet that they’ve made songs for the first responders but it’s still so heartbreaking to me.

I began listening to this song when I've heard the blaring of sirens. I looked up and it came from a Police cruiser as it raced to the call. I don't know what call s/he/they were responding to, but this seeming, coincidental happening gave this song a greater impact for me. My husband retired after 26 1/2 years as a police officer. He retired with rank….somehow it was always his shoulder they cried on. I have been to too many police officer funerals. It never, ever gets easier. Now I worry about my son, who chose to follow his father into law enforcement. God bless the ones who are willing to step into harm’s way. My dad served in the South African Police Service and there were times he would storm into our house out of breath after a domestic issue in town. I am still very happy to have him around but I salute all service men and women who layed their lives for their communities

So this song popped up my my recommended page today, March 22, 2021 at around 1pm EST today. Less than 4 hours later, Boulder, CO had a mass shooting, claiming one officer's life. I currently just got out training to be a police officer in the state of Alabama. I lost my uncle who was a police officer in the city of Andalusia. Thank you for such a beautiful tribute. My girlfriend wakes up everyday with me just to tell me she loves me, because you never know when it could be your last. For all you other fellow officers, God Bless you guys and women. Thin blue line! I do it so my loved ones and others loved ones can have a safe environment! All of us bleed and can be killed just as easy as any other human being. My dad retired from Las Vegas Metro he died 6 years ago this song really hit me to the core. My heart breaks for every officers family that have to lay them to rest. I'm out here training to defend my nation when I get a notification. a thousand miles back home, where I was born and raised there were officers down. 3 officers responded to a call.... two of those officers did not make it home to their families that night. one pulled through in the hospital... my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those officers... they paid the ultimate price to protect others...

I am literally crying reading some of these comments .my heart goes out to the fallen police officers , military personnel, firefighters and paramedics.

ive meant some pretty mean comments calling them terrible. It just ruins my heart where people beleive majority of cops are useless when they wouldnt be alive right now without them

My father has been an Idaho State Trooper for almost 30 years now. I thank God that I've never gotten a call like this. I cant imagine what it must be like to go through this. Thank you to all law enforcement and their families. Amazing song Hannah!

In our crazy world these days, I believe that this song is very appropriate, appreciated, and hopefully, some comfort to the families of fallen officers. My sister had a best friend who's husband who a New Orleans Police Officer a while ago, and I think of him and his family each time I play it. Thank You. God Bless You!

This song has helped a lot of people, with tough situations within my community who have lost family members, who were first responders this song means alot to them, thank you so much for helping them get through those dark times.
