I’m from NY (Long Island) born and raised until last year….and it honestly makes me happy when I see videos of people moving to NY. NY may have its issues which even us locals can’t deny but….it does have a lot to offer. Make sure you also check out upstate and Long Island too…..so many people who either come to visit NY or who move here don’t usual think to visit upstate and Long Island. Long Island has plenty of beaches on the south shore, and wineries on the north shore.

I'm actually curious how the locals feel about these influencers who move to the city not because their work requires them to be there (they could work from anywhere, some of them don't even film outside of their apartments), but just because they want to experience life in NY. I mean, I understand the fascination for the city, but on the other hand, this leads to an increase in demand, which also increases the rent for everyone (prices that these influencers can afford, while those who really have to live there for work/family can no longer afford to pay the rent and have to move).

@@alinam5092 it is a bit of an adjustment but in actuality….a lot of these influencers aren’t moving into these new high rises, some of them are actually moving into buildings that have already been in the area for years. This one influencer that I watch, she actually moved to South Carolina last year after having lived in Manhattan for one year…..she lived in a pretty old building in terms of architecture. However, let’s just remember that there isn’t a massive wave of influencers moving here. It’s hard as a local because we want tourists and influencers to experience the city for more than the typical tourist attractions but we also don’t want them to take it over. I personally don’t have a problem with it because I’ve seen way more locals shit on the state all together and I want for more people especially influencers to discover NY again.

I would like to hear from someone born and raised over there if you don’t mind sharing from someone thinking of moving from Africa to NY, and is Long Island also Brooklyn?
