Hey! Seeing a lot of concern about Matt not helping me in this video- just want to address so we can move forward 😊 First, he just had shoulder surgery so that’s one factor. But more importantly I LIKE working alone. Matt has his own job that he does from his computer every day, and we’ve developed a nice version of our own kinda 9-5 work week routine. Don't apologize, this is how projects are for all of us. It's not right that most KZfaqrs only show the good parts. We all strip screws (UGGH) and don't get enough materials, start things we can't finish for a while. It's real life. No matter what, you are living a magical life and I for one, thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Got to love the part where Hannah was relentless ripping out a stubborn cabinet while the song, "Let Go" was playing.

This is more than likely redundant information about the pink insulation you've installed but there is a reason for concern so here goes. Faced batts of insulation are always supposed to be installed with the "face" (the paper) towards the conditioned space IE normally the interior heated/cooled spaces. Installing them the way you have will cause condensation (and eventually mold/rot ) to form between the paper facing of the insulation and the inner side of the exterior wall material as well as between the plastic vapor barrier and the paper facing.

The paper side of the insulation goes toward the room. It’s the vapor barrier. The way you have it installed could cause some real problems.

What you did by painting the walls with that primer was really very intuitive of you. It seals in any moisture damage and can help refresh a space. Keep doing you! 🥰

Looks good. Insulation should go under the wire not over it. 2 reasons, 1. So you can see where the wire is 2. That will be open dead space for cold air since insulation isn’t up against the wall.

Hannah I believe in the north the paper on your insulation goes towards the room. In the south due to humidity it goes to the outside wall. The edge of the paper gets stapled to the 2x4.

Hannah the next time you are in town find a dollar tree and get some thick rubber bands in the office supply area. Why you ask? This is to help with the stripped screw. Place the rubberbandover the screw head and then try to unscrew the screw. If that does not work then try plyers or cut a notch in the top for a flat head using a rotary tool. I hope that helps and I loved the song "Let it go" playing while you were yanking the cabinet down and the stud and screw were like yeah right Hannah that is not gonna happen lol. Your pumpkin was cool and the bonfire with the family, Matt and the dog was nice to see at the end. You and Matt bring out the best in each other and know when to give each other space when it comes to work and projects. I don’t know much about insulation but I do remember when my brother built his first house in NH-there was an issue with the house actually having too much insulation-how can that happen?? I was very young at the time but this brought back the memory.
