It’s so sad to see and again we don’t know for sure but my dad had a similar childhood experience where he got basically kicked out of his moms side of the family and later on in life he tried so hard to regain that love that he always subconsciously wanted and it caused a lot of family issues for a bit. We moved away from our home state so he could work for my grandmas side of the family and they weren’t very inviting, especially to my mom. My parents had a lot of issues because my dad spent all his time doing stuff to feel love from that side of the family and it’s just so sad. My parents love eachother so so much now and they are inseparable and it’s really just gods grace. It does hit close to home to see Hannah go through this.

Your parents have no morals actually, that's what's wrong with this world today, people today don't know how to raise kids right, they just give them what they want to shut them up and make them happy, and fear punishing their kids for the democrat's who messed up the system might call the law on them.

I think it's all because of her mother, they don't have a great relationship, moving back in must've been a bit hard for both of them, so I think the uncomfortable vibe is because it's a family video so she had to be careful about what she say?.... Which is weird cuz if anything, being with family should be a comfortable place to say what you want. ... I really genuinely hope she's happier now and have a better relationship with her mother.

Same here. Cause of coronavirus my classes and campus job are all online now and the Bay Area (where I go to school/live) is currently on a shelter in place order for the next three weeks. I've been updating my family all along with the various news developments and both of my parents have asked me several times if I want to come back, no questions asked. No rules, no expectations. They just want me back (I said no because I want to be there for my housemates, friends, and the person I'm dating, and I don't want to go back home after being on my own for six months.)

If I were her I would live with her dad he seems less toxic and more genuine. This gave me the worst vibes her sister didn’t have to be salty about being accepted into a school. Like Hannah has a bad background history for what she done but doesn’t mean she has to be brought down from her siblings I see Hannah moving out again because her siblings are so mean to her. How she is supposed to recover from what she went through if her own siblings keep bringing her down. Also the list isn’t needed that’s so toxic and controlling.

She’s not at all toxic. Her mom let her go out on her own like do the gap year, get an apartment, etc. Hannah later realized that living on her own didn’t feel right and that it was a mistake and she wasn’t ready for that. So her mom let her move back in, but she set some rules for her and what she thinks would be best for her. No mother daughter relationship is ever perfect and some are better than others but their working on it. It seems like they’re both putting in the effort and doing what it takes to build. That little clip of Ella and her fighting just shows you that her life isn’t perfect, and siblings especially Hannah and Ella since they are so close in age probably have small fights like that all the time because they are probably constantly being compared. I think if that clip really bothered Hannah I think she would have cut it out. Their whole family through Hannah moving out and back in and dealing with the apartment. It also affected them throughout this process too. Plus we don’t see what else happens behind the scenes.

Dude it was her first day back. Maybe they are not gonna click straight away. Just because her mother is strict and has rules doesn’t mean she is toxic. Like do you know what toxic parents are?? Hannah is an adult that is living with her parents. If she has rules Hannah is living like n her house and she needs to respect them. All parents are controlling at one point in your life. That doesn’t mean that they are toxic. And Ella was being mean but I think that you forget that they are siblings. I have 8 siblings and fighting happens all the time. It was their first time seeing each other in a while and they are sisters!!!!!! Don’t be so fazed when sisters fight because it’s totally normal. My lord stop judging how their family looks because they are truly a beautiful family. Anyone would be lucky to have them.

For everyone saying Hannah’s mom is being strict please take several seats. The woman has 4 other children in the house that she has to take care of...they all have different schedules and without rules the household would be chaotic. If Hannah was concerned, she would not have moved back. Also just because you are legally an adult, doesn’t mean that you are exempt from following the head of household’s rules. Future more, Hannah’s mom knows her best! Whatever rules she came up with are what Hannah needs to grow as a person and take on more responsibility in order to be more independent in the future.

I have 3 younger sisters, their ages range from 3 - 13. Hannah's mom is not giving her the unconditional love and support that a mother NEEDS to give her children. I have a strict parent, but this truly is next level. It's easy to say that a parent knows best for their children but sometimes they don't. Hannah's mom (from what I've seen) seems extremely controlling, she puts conditions on what Hannah needs to do to get her support. That isn't okay and it's heartbreaking to see Hannah walk into a house with such a loving and positive energy and not get it back from her mother. Rules are needed to keep a household chaotic, trust me I know. My mother (who has raised 4 girls on top of taking care of a sick husband as well as balancing a career and her own mental health) would be appalled to see how Hannah's mom is responding to all of this. If you didn't watch Hannah's video on why she moved back in you should, she explains that her family pretty much isolated her. Once again NOT OKAY. Sometimes mother's don't have their children's best interest in mind.

I feel really bad that she has to try so hard to just be with her family. Like this girl is only 18 and just graduated high school, she shouldn’t be under so much pressure to move out and be on her own. Especially because she DID try to move into a new apartment and it was sooo bad for her mental health so why can’t her family understand that and welcome her back with open arms instead of being so conditional with the love they give her. Idk what I would do if my mom was like that 🙁 just watching their interaction, it doesn’t seem natural because she is trying so hard and her mom is just like whatever

J X B if your child is not ready to move out, she shouldn’t be forced to. She’s 19 not 30. If it’s bad for her mental health and she is struggling, shouldn’t that be top priority? If she needs more time and is not ready to move out, the family should respect that as well. All I’m saying is they shouldn’t be so conditional with the love they give her.

Even tho I DO think that every household should have rules, I kind of feel uncomfortable with the way her mother did all of this. Hannah is 19. Yes, she might be a legal adult but you can't expect your child to be grown up the day they turn 18. Yes, "adult" teenagers should take responsibility for themselves and be independent to some extent. But they are still just teenagers. Idk if I have that mindset because I'm European (German to be exact) and we don't have the same family dynamics as American families. But I personally think, as a 19 year old myself, that it's a very weird thing to expect your child to be fully independent at that age and move out when they are 18. Many people here actually stay with their parents during university. My mom always said that I can move out if I want to but I don't have to if I'd rather stay with them (I could because my uni isn't far from where I live). From what I've heard, Hannahs mom set those rules for her as a requirement for her to be able to come back. Which is not how a family should function in my mind. Again, rules are acceptable and even necessary to make families work. But the concept of making those rules into a requirement or even something like a contract bothers me. They are not a company and their employer, they are mother and daughter. If your child is still so young and needs your emotional support you should give it to them. Figuring yourself out is hard as it is. But having to do all of it on your own and without emotional support is even harder. I can't see behind the scenes, but the way her mom handled the situation bothered me. I am quite sure of it that hannah has made her fair share of mistakes during all of this, but she is still not fully grown up yet. You can't expect her to handle every situation in a mature way. But I do think that a grown woman, a mother, should act a little more appropriate in situations like these and be there for her daughter when she needs her most. I recall hannah saying that she asked her mom to stay with her instead of going on vacation because she was not well mentally, and her mother still went without her. That is something that would have hurt me very much if it happened to me and would probably partly destroy my trust in my mother. Your parents are (usually) the people you trust most and lean onto during difficult times, and when they fail to be there for you it can hurt you deeply. I hope that both her and her mother will be able to restore their relationship and form a healthier, trusting bond in the future. And for that I don't think those rules are actually necessary. An "adult" teenager should participate in the family life and do chores just like everyone else, but they also should have a little more freedom than the children under 18. Experiencing stuff on your own away from your family but still being able to return to the safety and stability of your family is probably the best way to learn how to become an adult. It's like young birds making test flights and coming back to the nest before leaving it completely. With their family it seems as if it's expected to either move out when you're 18 and be on your own or live with the family and not be independent at all. Both sides are unfitting for the transition she is going through: from child to adult. A good mix of both is probably better for all of them.

Everyone keeps saying Hannah’s mother is toxic meanwhile none of us knows what it really means to be a parent. Regardless, the rules are reasonable and understandable her mother is doing what a good mother should do. So many times influencers go crazy and act out because they don’t have good standards within the home. This is how healthy, productive, good values type of family looks like. Good for her mother for not letting Hannah do as she pleases and making sure the family goes to church and is involved. Just because you haven’t seen it doesnt mean it’s not normal.

I’m no one to judge but I feel like her siblings are a big factor into whether Hannah can be happier and feel better altogether. She’s definitely a family kind of girl and seeing the way Ella talks to her is just like wtf. College is a sticky subject for Hannah rn and for Ella to butt in and say that she was accepted was something else. If Hannah were my sister and I knew what she was going through, I’d be more considerate and caring about what I say. People say that that’s just her personality but in reality she could tone it down and be nice for a moment, it wouldn’t kill her.

If your comment is about the strictness of her mother: y’all have to understand that Hannah is an adult living under her mom’s roof. It’s not bizarre to push someone to adulthood. Heck, she is an adult. She should be treated like one - and she would if she were independent like one. 🤷‍♀️ no hate but I fully see her mom’s POV (of what we’ve been shown)!
@atsleepwalkingpace
@atsleepwalkingpace 4 жыл бұрын
I don't agree with how strict her mom is, but people need to understand that she comes from a generation where rules were EVERYTHING. They had a belief that as long as you follow the rules and do "what you're supposed to", everything will work out and you'll be happy and safe forever. Because of this a lot of parents either have heaps of rules or go the opposite direction and have none, because they resented having so many when they were growing up. I don't agree with it but I think she is coming from a good place.

irene biju she has to be an adult sometime, and without a lot of freedom is the perfect way to force someone into adulthood. She wouldn’t have any rules if she was in her own home, she could be an adult there, but she chose to live at home after graduation. You heard it yourself, Hannah was okay with the rules of it meant she could live at home.

I had to stop watching. I love this channel but this was SO weird. The whole vibe just seems so forced and off. Low key cannot wait for her to get out and go to college and just live how she wants to live as a young adult.......I also hope since she said in the last video that she was having suicidal thoughts, that she's been getting help from a professional. I lived at home until my mid 20's and never had curfews or rules because my parents respected me and trusted me. A contract? At 19 years old? Mate I would run as fast as my legs could take me. It also says a lot to me that church is number 1 on the list.... And forced college? If you don't want to go to college, DON'T GO. Hannah you seem like such a lovely soul! Suffocated though, and I hope you find your freedom and your way in life soon. It took me a long time to realise that just because you're related by blood to someone does not mean that they aren't toxic to you. xxxx

@@awesomevanessa1 I did indeed. The impression I got from that video was that she couldn't handle her family's reaction to her moving out. It doesn't mean I'm right about it and we don't have to agree with each other. I'm genuinely concerned for this girl, especially as she mentioned suicidal thoughts. I'm also coming from my own experience with toxic and unsupportive family members. but like I said we don't have to agree :)

This is an example of how siblings are not Ella “wanting to be the favorite.” And Hannah clapped back with the tanning bed thing. Hey Hannah! I really like this whole family series! I appreciate the past couple uploads of yours because they are good examples to your younger viewers that THINKING you're ready to make a change in your life is so different than actually being ABLE to. With much respect, I applaud you for moving back in with your family because the courage it takes(as some may say) to "step back" can be hard to conquer. I went through a similar situation of moving out and then moving back into my family home. I went from a family of 6 to just me. I lacked the basis of the original foundation my family raised me by, which then made the freedom I had confusing and my arrogance towards prioritizing what was important to increase. I had only my thoughts and decisions to rely on, which made justifying my wrong doings easier because my family was no longer around to help guide me. With that being said, I moved out at 18, moved back in with my parents at 19, and at 22, yes, I still live with my parents! :) Moving back home has made me accomplish more than I ever have or thought I could for myself! So, thank you, Hannah, for showcasing that moving back home(or anywhere else that may benefit) is sometimes the path/push people need to take in order to move forward with their futures! Again, sorry for the rant but, way to be a TRUE role model girly! -Val :) (btw I live in the Southeastern area in MI!)

I think she wanted Hannah to have some structure and to understand what it means to be an active member of the family. These aren’t rules like u have to clean up after everyone but rules that are grounded in making sure you spend time together. It’s not fair for us outsiders to comment (Ik it seems hypocritical since I’m responding to a comment of a comment) bc we! do! not! know! what! happened! before! Hannah mentioned that her moving out was rough on their relationship and that she felt lost for much of that time. Just Bc someone is ur child doesn’t mean u have to tolerate all of their behaviors and actions.
