In my opinion as a retired head chef , The Ritz has one of the best head chefs in England along with Raymond Blanc , John Williams head chef at The Ritz would be one head chef I would have loved too have worked under , one of the Old School still rocking out amazing food in the Kitchen, he has my huge respect 🙏

I was a waitress in a rather upscale restaurant in the States. My only advice to you would be, that the wait staff are normal people with normal wages that live in normal or middle-class housing. Do not be shy or embarrassed to ask them anything pertaining to your meal. They are there to answer any questions and if you think it's your first time you are not the only first timers there. The wait staff doesn't mind. I enjoy your videos very much.

I had lunch at the Ritz last year in December, a real treat. I’m from Australia so wearing a coat in December isn’t required, worth remembering you need some cash to tip the cloak room staff. I thought the bathroom was gorgeous.

I had tea at Claridge's two weeks ago. They did not pour our tea until we finished our champagne. The food was delicious. (We could also take our cakes with us). They also gave us a little box of Claridge's fudge to take with us. There was such a lovely scent in the hotel. They said the candles are available in their very small gift shop, so of course I bought one. It was a lovely afternoon! Next time I will definitely have tea at The Ritz. It looks so elegant.

Hi Hannah, Thank you for such an informative and fun video about your experience at the Ritz! Because of your video, we booked a Festive Tea for two at the Ritz. We had been gifted a voucher for the regular afternoon tea but were able to use it for the Festive Tea by paying the difference. We kept checking their booking website for last minute cancellations and there were many!! (Although they got booked again quickly). We loved our experience at the Ritz, it really lived up to it's hype! I took your advice and asked for a table around the edge of the room and got exactly the table you sat at! Just for everyone's information I'm vegetarian and they offered extra sandwiches that were different to the main menu inc pesto and avocado, hummus and roasted red pepper, artichoke. They offered us more sandwiches and cakes and even offered for us to try extra teas! We had the last slot of the day at 19:30 so there was no rush to leave. We took our time and left leisurely after 2 hours. The staff were amazing and I would go as far to say that this is the best high tea I have ever had! xxxx

It is indeed called a ‘crust’ on the clotted cream, it’s a result of when the cream is baked, yes, clotted cream is baked! By looking at the colour of the crust, you can usually tell if the cattle were pure grass fed or grain fed.

When I was 18 I had Afternoon Tea at the Ritz in Sanfransico, California. It was cold in December and I wore my new coat and my best dress and boots and warm socks. It was some thing I shall never forget. That was 1960 and I arrived in a Gitny

This is hugely expensive but is a serious treat and ecperience if you can afford it. Popping into the Rivoli bar for a cocktail before or after, depending on what time you book makes it even more special. The staff are amazing and you will be treated the same regardless of wealth and class. The staff are lovely, especially if you engage and are nice to them too.

I miss the days of afternoon tea. Where I used to go. Was like this in offerings. So delicious! It was not the Ritz, the decor and the atmosphere was antiques. So quaint! Watching this brought back memories. Where I moved to tea places are not done.

In April I took my 30-something yr old son to The Milestone Hotel for his first afternoon tea. Champagne afternoon tea was 90 GBP per person not including service fee (12.5%) of $22.50. It was actually a perfect place for a first timer - kind of old English. The food was excellent. We were able to take whatever sandwiches and cakes with us that were leftover, but we didn't get 'refills' as it wasn't part of the package. I'll be honest, we have a few places in Southern California that do afternoon teas for a less price AND they are all excellent. The most money I have spent for one (without soup or salad) is $57. Please come and try them here! I always enjoy your afternoon tea videos Hannah!

Loved having High Tea with English Sisters! You are both so wonderful and elegant. Joking about the bush and cat out corner of eye, waiter too quick and fast but at least they poured the tea. Agreed the scones should have been kept warm and a discreet card to identify treats as well in that amazing doggie bag would have been amazing. The Ritz looked wonderful in a quanitly old fashioned way, traditional colour plaette or red and green mainly, although I do agree some of the dedcor in the houses and macaroons seemed out of place in that set up. There is always going to be a premium price for afteroon tea at this time of year - the run into Christmas. The food looked amazing. Nice to see Nat again and I wish her a happy birthday, although I maybe a little early. You both looked very glam. Looking forward to seeing you twice a week for the run in into Christmas, especially Harrods food hall, Fortnums and Liberties again hopefully. Steve

My first Tea at the Ritz was back in the 80's. And was suitably impressed with the service and ambience. My second time was in the 90's when I treated my friend for her birthday. She was thrilled, but I thought it was not as good. But she was happy so that was OK. My third time was with my daughter for my birthday in the 00's. I undertook a survey of other venues: Dorchester, Park Lane, etc. And finally decided my favourite overall was the Savoy!!. Fascinated to hear the price of Afternoon Tea - a wee bit more than I remember paying! Will have a look at your February visit to compare. Loved the walk round the Xmas decorations. I drove through by coach last week but was not able to see all the side streets. Thank you.
