This makes me feel so nostalgic. I still remember taking the train from Da Nang which is my home town to Ha Noi, then took the bus to Hai Duong which is my grandmother's home. The train was so shaky I couldnt sleep because I kept bumping myself into the metal bar of the top bed. Also the food on the train was terrible back then and also very expensive, almost triple normal price. Watching this also makes me realize how far Vietnam railroad has developed in the last 20-25 years, from wooden beds to V.I.P car, from stinky squat toilet to modern European style one. Too bad air travel nowadays is so cheap and quick, not many people choose to travel by train like it used to be. vietnam developed too fast after 20 year

man a year theres no internet existed a year people live very kind not like present life changed too much since the internet linked in to our country =D salute cameraman keep this rare video footage im 1 yrs old at this time =D . now world knew where's viet nam is im so proud of the solders are lay down for peace to make our generation brighter . about more detail of VNR there's 1 rail way system if guys dont know or already heard about it , its is make me so sad and regret is the Phan Rang - Thap Cham (Da Lat) its cog railway this path so unique there are just only 1 in the world at that time since franch dominated . but its history now this type of railway is going home at switzerland .

In 2001 foreigners would have been rare in Hanoi, the government had only just relaxed the borders and made it easier for tourists to enter. Must get to the North I have only been South so far, it looks interesting.

word cai in lao mean pass . lao cai means... lao area in the pass . or lao has been passed through . this is a long history between lao and vietnam .
