This piece is named after the well-known fairy tale collected by brothers Grimm. Hansel and Gretel, who are brother and sister, are abandoned in a forest. Here they meet a witch, who lives in a house made of gingerbread and cake. She wants to eat the children, but Gretel kills her and the children escape.
