Hantek TO1000 Series Fuel Pump Current Draw Testing

Says a lot about pump state of health.
Scaling: 100mv/Div & 1ms/Div. Current clamp (CC65) is set correspondingly @ 100mv/1A.
Note: The audio gain was increased 5 fold in the segment of the video when you can “hear” the fuel pump running.

One of the least invasive for diagnostic. Is place a 0.1 ohm resistor across the fuel pump fuse and measure the voltage across the resistance. Remember v=i×r.

Yep. Even just the drop across the fuse will produce a similar waveform. The “Amp Hound” also uses this principle. Cheers 👍

Hi Gibby, question for you. When counting ms (2:45) how does one know when to stop counting. You stopped at 9ms. If you can clarify that, that would be great.

Thx for watching. I think most fuel pumps are 8 or 12 segment commutators. The 9 ms delta T is the elapsed time for a identifiable current “hump” to reappear. Meaning time elapsed (in msec) for 1 revolution. Since there is 60 thousand milliseconds in 1 minute the formula converts time for 1 pump rotation to Rpm. 😀

Yeah far as I can tell it’s just a units label. Kinda goofy they don’t have facility under probes to select even thier own product 🤷‍♂️ Thx for watching 🍻

Is the graphing on the DMM any good? Really like the look of the hantek, id really like a snap on for it's scopemeter but way out of my budget & i work on heavy plant so the diagnotic part of the snapon would be irrelevant

Scope looks awesome. Too bad its functionality and performance is weak. Honestly the graphing meter is also rubbish. I no longer use this tool. Sorry for the tone of the response but Hantek really have marketed a poor product here IMO. Thx for watching 🍻

@@TheGibby3340darn I’m disappointed to hear this I thought this or the other handheld would be a good replacement for my old vantage that died. What’s the issue with this one? I don’t need the most powerful just something quick and convenient like the vantage was that can do all in one.

1/2 hour 45 minutes ish…Two channel models only have 2 batteries. 4 channel 4 batteries 🍻

Great video thanks mate, question I have an issue with mine on the multimeter when I first connect to a 12v source it initially shows over 20v does yours do the same ? I thought I would try and update firmware but I cannot get it to read the USB

Honestly I haven’t really used the multimeter much. I don’t like the auto scaling, but I’ll check it…Try using a clean thumb drive. With only the update file on it. Thx for watching 🍻

👍👍 I made the same "tuning" on the hantek clamp with a cheap tag printer. It always took me 5 minutes to convert that stupid scale written on the selector:))) the 650 model is a bit more intuitive.

Depends on intended use. If you’re new to oscilloscopes, start with something simple and cheap. Snap On & PicoScope offer fantastic professional grade tools. So it’s really up to you to define your need’s & budget. Having said that, I would not recommend Hanteks TO1000 series. That tool was a huge disappointment. Thanks for watching 🍻

@user-rc2mx5md9l Never used an Autel scope…I have the Hantek 2C42 hand held. It’s pretty good, small screen though useless in direct sunlight conditions. As the screen becomes virtually unreadable.🍀🍻

No. Product packaging is excellent. Product software and memory capacity is a joke. Nowhere near ready for public release. Sorry to sound negative. This scope was/is a huge letdown from Hantek. Thx for watching 🍻
