The famous Happo One Snow Resort in the Hakuba area was one of the venues for the 1998 Winter Olympics. The difficulty of the ski courses is relatively high, and the majority are intermediate or above.
The Happo-ike Sanso at the top of the snow resort is 1,850 meters above sea level. Here you can enjoy the broad view of the peaks of Japan's Northern Alps. The view from the top of the mountain is wonderful and makes you forget to leave.
You can go to the top of the mountain without skiing and just enjoy the scenery. Follow the video to see how to take the gondola and lift.
There are four areas in the ski resort. This video uses gondola, lifts, and ski courses to explore Happo One, introducing each base, as well as the unique scenery and ski courses in different areas and mountains.
We were lucky enough to encounter The 60th All Japan Ski Technical Championships. Hundreds of experts gathered together to demonstrate fine skills. This is a rare opportunity, so don’t miss it.

can we go to the top to happo ike sanso just sightseeing by snow boots and no ski equipments ?

Yes,you can see the scenery with normal snow boots and no ski equipment. Please access from the Shirakaba Gondola station. Buy a round-way sightseeing ticket, take gondola+lift+lift.(you may find the route and gate in the video) Normally the lift staff would assist in holding the lift chair for a second for sightseeing tourists' better get on/off. The sightseeing spot is not far from Happo Sanso like 100M. If you wanna go further to the top, you will need to fill out the Mountain Climbing Plan form that you may get at the entrance of Happo Sanso. Have fun.

When did you go for skiing in this video? I’m planning to go here in the next Christmas 2024 but I’m worried that during the early winter season ,will there be enough snow for skiing?

We had stayed from mid January to end February and beginning March to mid March 2023. Based on our experience it would be better since middle of January
