For many years, the British Empire was the leading superpower. But due to debts from WWII and giving its colonies independence, it quickly lost its power. America and USSR stepped up to be the world’s most powerful superpowers.

I love this trend so much. It’s also cool seeing how despite America being founded on the idea of not being Britain he just ended up taking his place
