Accident investigation was fun. I did over 250 investigations in a 10 year period. Dealing with some of my bosses and the lack of overtime pay or reimbursement of funds drove me back to bus driving.

I was detained, not arrested. I did not break any laws. They didn't want me around the accident site, although I had the right to be there. Even though I identified myself with both a business card and company ID badge, they chose not to believe the school bus was involved in the collision. After CHP arrived, they learned about what a school bus accident was and I that correctly informed them.
