I just want to share that BOTW is definitely not just GOTY for me but part of my top three games ever. The experience that I had with this game was wonderful. My 4 year old daughter use to love watching me play the game and it was an even better experience watching her watch me. We would explore the world together and I loved her reaction to the game she was genuinely amazed and it made me feel even more love for the game. It's one of those daddy daughter experiences that only a gaming dad can appreciate. =)

When someone asks me my favorite game of all time, three things come to mind. Skyrim, Halo 3, Fable 2. All for different reasons. Halo 3 pretty much introduced me to gaming. I was very young. The game came out the year before I started school. Just so many memories playing that game with my cousin. Then Fable 2. I originally learned about that game when I was spending the night with my cousin, the same one who I played Halo with. We both met a kid in his neighborhood named David. We hung out with home, and actually arranged for us to stay the night at his house. So we went over there around 7:00 P.M. We played with toys for a while. Then when night fell, and everyone began to can down, David began playing Fable 2. Just seeing the game, hearing the music, I was blown away. A few weeks later, I'm home sick with the Flu. My mom being the great person she is, offered to go get me a new game to make me feel better. So I asked for Fable 2. I played it all the way through in one sitting and was in tears at the end. When it comes to Skyrim, it's a much more personal reason for the love for that game. So I was in 4th grade. The year is 2013. My mom goes to the store and brings it back home for me as a surprise. She knew I was in to fantasy / Sci-fi games at this point. I was also really into The Lord of the Rings, and medieval things and such. So she brings it home, and I'm instantly attached. Now, this was my first Elder Scrolls game, and first truly open world game as well. So I don't even know what to do once I start. I chose to be a wood elf (I had this obsession with elves after watch LotR) and I just begin sinking time into it. The reason I love it so much comes into play soon. Basically, my mom was in an on/off relationship with my abusive step father. He would always berate me for being into singing and video games, instead of sports. When my grandma would send me gifts he would just take them and give them to my brothers, he would stand by my door at night and make scary noises to terrorize me, he would wake me up by pouring water on me. Eventually my mom left him for good, and we moved in with my grandma for a short time. That's when my life became the best it's ever been. I'm 15 now and still have nostalgia over sitting in my grandma's living room, and listening to her soothing voice while playing Skyrim.

The same thing happened to me last year. Unexpectedly the Witcher 3 became my favorite game of all time. I was actually in denial for months! I couldn't let go my previous #1, but man, that game is just so good to me.

Man, you got such a great taste in games. Maybe it's people of our age that truly appreciate what BOTW does as we grew up with Zelda 1. BOTW took me back to being a kid again spending hours just exploring and making mental notes on where stuff was and everthing.

I always say the same thing about BoTW. Despite the disappointing storyline and lack of truly challenging dungeons, it's overworld and overall gameplay is so perfect that it makes up for every possible flaw. It's the kind of game you want to share with the world as it brings pure joy to all that play it. My parents and siblings and my siblings little kids all love and appreciate it. It's almost single-handedly ushered in a new generation of video game players.

We all know that phantasy star is number 1 (Well I guess I was wrong and I'm really surprised), but I'm interested to see how your game tastes have changed over the last 10 years. Shenmue: I own this game for the dreamcast, but I still have not had a chance to play it as of yet. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night: i own this game for the ps1, but I still have not had a chance to play it as of yet. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - I have beaten this game, but I still need to complete this game to 100% completion. Final Fantasy IV/Dragon Quest IV: I have only played and beaten dragon quest IV for the Nintendo DS, and I have played final fantasy IV but I still need to beat it. These are two games that I need to complete to 100% completion. Super Mario Bros. 3 - Just a timeless classic and an important game to my childhood. I have beaten this game several times but I need to play to 100% completion. Street Fighter II: Just a timeless classic, but its been so long since I played the street fighter II version. Ys Books 1 & 2: I still haven't had a chance to play the first two ganes of the ys series. I hope I can change that pretty soon. Skyrim: I remember you getting quite addicted to this game when I visited your place for the first time. It's not a game that I'm particularly interested in but I can respect how much this game means to you and your personal gaming taste. Phantasy Star: I still need to play this game for myself. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - I don't own a switch but I will get around to playing this game when I do own a switch for the first time.

My favourite game of all time is by far Super Smash Brothers 4. Its crafted so lovingly, and it never gets old. To see Mario, Sonic, MegaMan, Pac Man, Ryu, Cloud, & Bayonetta in ONE GAME... Its incredible.
