Saying this here just because it's the top comment and there seems to be a lot of focus on her profile as a streamer: *anyone* can be stalked, and no one deserves it. You could get stalked by someone who lives down the street from you, a colleague, a member of staff at the gym... your housemate. Hell, it could start by crossing paths with someone at the supermarket who decided they were going to follow you home that day - this might sound over the top, but I'm sure women reading this comment can remember being randomly followed by a stranger at some point. What always makes the experience more terrifying is knowing that, even if you make it to your destination safely, you might be giving away a location you can often be found at.

Its not getting better. My 15 year old daughter had to stop going to a youth club when another boy described her bedroom to her. Its on the second floor and she never posts photos online from her room. The only way was if he climbed a tree across the street and used binoculars. She keeps her room blinds down 24/7 now. Society is changing and the police need to know this and understand it. Not all crime is physical and in the daytime. The police seriously need to update their approach to online stalking and blackmail along with all manner of horrors. I’m not saying that the police should now intervene with every online transaction that we have, but they should at least spend more time investigating things online as they would if it were a physical crime!

There's a reason ACAB is so popular. The cops have only one job, and that is to maintain the peace, in other words, make sure the masses stay quiet and let the rich enjoy their fortune in peace. George Holliday. That's a brilliant idea. Please ( if you haven't already) look up some murders that have happened through stalking - they steal your life. The police always say they can't do anything until the stalker does something physically. So people (mainly women) often have to live with YEARS of being terrified and there's nothing they can do. If they got scared off then it could save a life 👏✌🤗
@natb9919
@natb9919 2 жыл бұрын
That's admirable but the issue is criminals don't see "vigilantes" as an authority the same way they see police so if a stalker is actually dangerous the most you're going to do is piss them off and if they know who you're protecting they're more likely to target her rather than target the men who can fight back. You can't be around every minute either so if the guy is really dangerous it will be the woman who you're protecting who will bear the worst of it. Not to mention the fact a lot of these stalkers have very fragile egos. A dangerous person with a fragile ego is a deadly combination. The police just need to pull their finger out of their arse tbh, this is what we pay their wages for.

That is the closest I can think of that would help, short of changing the laws to force them into mental asylums again. Reopen the asylums, just for the stalkers. There's enough of them out there for that! Problem I got is that just like the majority of the people in UK, I got no money to get something like that started, nor the time to manage it... What the hell are the police playing at! What she just described is very likely to lead to something really bad it's a ticking time bomb. The police need to start taking stuff like this seriously. Also what she said about the woman reporting the stalker, the police then ignored her then he killed her. Fucking disgraceful!!!

Anita should move to the USA to a state with a "stand your ground" law, then get training and a concealed firearm permit, so at least she'll have a chance to protect herself physically and legally. That shit with the knife dude was seriously scary!

its crazy to think that if she moved to the US the police would actually do slightly more than the UK police from what she described. they wouldn't do much. just a little bit better.

Guns aren't the solution. She literally has tourettes and wouldn't be able to safely operate a weapon. The only solution is for the POLICE TO ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOBS.

Poor girl that's not fair she has to put up with that. I was stalked by an ex not to this extent but he would follow me around town while I shopped and got my name tattooed on him. Luckily we didn't date long enough for him to know where I lived but he did try to find out. But that was scary for me so I couldn't even imagine the fear and trauma she must go through with what she has experienced with stalkers

So many bunny boilers out there, with a fatal attraction. Anita is right, they are underfunded, and only report thing without taking actual action until its too late. There should be a special branch out there specifically dealing with stalkers and the like, that way the streets might be safe for people to walk.

@Ross Lovell That's not even remotely what is happening, it's the sound that happens when a mic/headphone jack is either not plugged in properly or is completely broken, they are not cutting out her ticks, and she wouldn't want them to, it's part of who she is, you think she is able to cut out her ticks on live stream? No. And it didn't do this on the spotify version. If you actually watch the fucking video it's happening mid sentence, there are no cuts.

Some people talk about what they believe from a point of view where they understand that it's their personal belief or opinion. Others sit there with the self absorbed attitude that THEIR particular opinion or belief is just THE TRUTH or THE WAY and talk using language that attempts to shame those who might disagree. It's a great tactic because it puts people on the back foot and usually results in them simply agreeing with them as humans generally try to avoid conflict. When you create an environment where the ONLY people you surround yourself believe the same things you do, and all agree with you, your world shrinks (even though it might be thousands of people who agree with you) and your own view of the world is skewed as you now have the mistaken assumption that you are indeed always right, and YOUR opinion is how the world should just work.

it isn’t really about a lack of funding, the more you fund a police force problems continue to prevail. it’s just about sheer lack of care and the way the policing system is

Correct. There is an excuse for everything in this world. In the healthcare is the same problem and i dont hear doctors/nurses leaving patients to die because they didn't feel like helping the man/woman or because they LACK FUNDING as all of you defend the blue bunnies........... All I can say is police is lazy and ineffective as always

There are lots of audio glitches in these clips.. Not sure what happened there but makes me feel so uncomfortable when it happens as my first instinct is to problem-solve to make sure it isn't my end. It's even worse in headphones too because they're sharp. I must have been something during the recording, which is fair enough, it happens (although likely shouldn't at this scale of production) but there are tools that could be used to repair the audio like Izotope Rx or something.

My mom's stalker has been in our lives for 16 years now. He has attacked her multiple times. My father has attacked him multiple times with the intent of killing him. We have opened legal files multiple times. What did my fellow Ethiopian police do? Nothing. A prosecutor finally recommended that my mom open a rape file against him(that's the only way to ensure that he could stay in prison for more than a year). Mama refused. So now we live with it.
