Yes these motors are a good choice. i'm stil experimenting with good motor for 3.5 inch and I'll hope to have some more tecting done with my new frame the gepRC Smart 35 soon.

Im now using this FC on another build but the PIDs were just BetaFlight default for 4.2.

This is the frame I'm flying regularly at the moment. I didn't get a flight time for the 1404 motors but I can tell you that with the 1504 motors i'm getting a good 4 and a half minutes of acro on a Tattoo 750mah 4S 90C.

@@MicronWings thanks, I checked the weight specs they are a lot heavier, relative, explains the higher power to me. The 14 mm stator diameter on the 1404 even in their specs is larger than that, and obviously to me, larger than the happy model 1404, which spec wise is 14 mm. Interesting how they measure things.

I always try to avoid turtle mode on drones which have underslung batteries. Unless of course you have a horn on top. You see many racing drones have a horn on top to tilt the drone to the side when they crash. On a drone with a battery on top this is not so much of a problem. But with an underslung battery it's much harder to flip because of the position of the battery and it's weight.

This frame is not the best for durability. It has mount holes right near where the arm joins the main frame and that is a weak spot. For 3.5 inch freestyle I still recommend the GEPRC Smart35. Also, go with LiPo batteries not LiIon. LiIon batteries (18650) are best used for long range drones.

I've tried both the 1504 3100 and 1504 3900 on this airframe. The 3900 is overpowered. More power is not always better. Overpowered motors make it harder to pinpoint the correct throttle setting in many manouvers as well as leading to you fliing too high in the throttle in general. So for goog freestyle 3100kv is definately the best.

Cube FPV Unfortunately according to a AE vendor the Xing 1504 are no longer produced. I’m currently looking at Diatone’s Toka 1505 do you have any thoughts?

@@uavcommander Yer i think 1505 is a good choice. A taller stator will be more responsive so that's the way you want to go instead of say 1503 which would be less responsive.
