Here's Hapuna State Beach on a Thursday, after being closed/ partially closed for a while after a "Kona Low" storm hit Hawaii.
The beach was closed early on Tuesday morning, then they opened it, but it was too messy to be useful.
It was completely closed on Wednesday morning, and they didn't even attempt to open it. (At least, the parking people told us it would be closed all day.)
It's still cloudy/ partially cloudy as I'm typing this.
There is not supposed to be a giant puddle, or a river of sorts at Hapuna Beach. The mess was mostly just leaves, dirt, and twigs. But the lifeguards did warn of logs in the water.
