As a Muslim wargamer I long ago lost the one faction that was close to representing me, the Tallarn Desert Raiders of 40k, so I was very pleased to find this faction. Not only does it do a great job for representation it makes the faction seem cool. It would have been easy to make them the religious suicide bombing nutjobs, which would not represent Islam at all. Thanks for the video, your stuff is always amazing. Must watch stuff for tabletop gamers and those that play the RPG game.

As a Jewish guy with a ton of Muslim friends I am happy they didn’t go with the suicide bombing stereotype and focused on enlightenment as well.

Yep I have to say that even tallaran its quite Meme as any faction in 40k because 40k its like top gear they make fun of everything and everyone expecting to be funny actually. Som times this type of british Jokes and parodies work, others not. For example: 40k all the time every single religion its treated as a kind of vortex of shit that leads to the chaos raping everyone. While in fantasy actually this doesn't happen you have magic wich could corrupt, yep but also demonic or bad entities and good entities like sigmar, or the kind of Virgins based on Catholic Church from Not France and Not Spain (bretonnia and Estalia) In 40k things are more like: Hey let's get Germans on this games lore: Proceed to add ww1 trench coated soldiers wich are excelent building trenches but hate live itself and paicologically are like a 16 year old listening linking park all the time... Also they are ashamed to fail the god emperor. Let's get Russians: they love old reliable technologies passed generation after generation they of course love vodka and they are ashamed because they failed the god emperor also. Let's get Germans of ww2: they have different uniforms but still have stahlhelms and love tanks and factories over trenches. Let's get russians of ww2: they love snow... And tanks and vodka. Let's get arabs: They love the emperor of mankind that much to the point of being ashamed also like krieg or vostroya. They also love sand but look like tusken raiders and act like tusker raiders (anakin skywalker lefts the chat). They get spain. But in seceret/not secret: All the inquisition/religion is bad becuz spanish inquisition and the spanish empire= bad. So in the end I would say that yep I love 40k for some things but when everything its elevated to that level of parody I can't take any faction in general seriously and if that happens it ends being an overpriced joke all 40k (even saying that I love that thing). As a spaniard I'm quite exhausted of every comparasion that feom all of our history only take : Inquisition bad religion bad. And from that perspective I understand Germans saying also: Guy there is more things than ww2 and russians saying the same and also musulmins saying: guy not everything in our history are guys with explosives and planes. For example for that same reason I preffer the alternative depictions of fantasy, Infinity, other things like dune... etc. Quite happy to discover this channel and infinity by extension!

And this is why Haqqislam is my favourite faction in Infinity, also one of my favourite methodologies and ideologies in Sci Fi. Advanced, humanist, caring while also willing to fight for it and humanity, making their own space and destiny, throwing off the shackles of the old world and becoming something greater. Plus the Ayyar minis are badass and i'd take a whole squad of them if I could XD

Yes to all. They are not perfect but there’s no reason you have to become a cruel corporatocracy. Haqqislamites seem to genuinely believe in human rights. And that’s before they show off their models ;) Woe betide any human slavers who cross Haqqislam

I enjoy these videos so much. I’ve just recently gotten into Infinity and Haqqislam was my first choice. I have learned so much not only about their lore, but also about Islam itself. As an American with very little actual contact with the world of Islam I think this representation of them is refreshing and I can’t wait to learn more about Islam and Haqqislam. Keep the videos coming!

As a Muslim i understand that the Game Designers of Infinity have no Clue about Islam. But HaqqIslam as the lore is written is Problematic and Fundamentally Racist. Although i Understand that the Designers tried some Inclusion.
