@@Christianityistherightway Slime are pretty cool, they are antifa. The most famous metal bands are Rammstein, Eisbrecher. I'd check out "Neu Deutsche Welle" and "Neu Deutsche Härte". There are a lot of cool German bands out there.

@@spacegrass6632 i guess lyric synch videos. My lil stepbrother is punk and pretty isolated so he wastes his time doing synchros to punk songs or animes - ive been shocked how many do this. Especially cause i experienced punk in a different way, small clubs doing shows all night etc

oh, you mixed this really really well. I don't know what kind of rabbit hole I've found myself in, but all I have to say is that I enjoy finding these little secrets I can share with the comments sections. It's not everyday you find a German punk band with a traditionally clothed woman set against large bananas.

My stepmother and father sometimes argued about wheter there were bananas in the GDR/DDR or not. (He was from western Germany/BRD, my stepmother from eastern Germany/GDR/DDR) That's a fucking cliché - the BRD guy talking about the bananas or their absence in east germany. Everybody here has an opinion if you ask them. To this day, I'm not sure if it's all false memories, but I was a teen when it happened so... yeah. probably not false meomiries. which is funny. and sad. Rüben are cultivated to this day on our fields btw, here in northern Germany. Kohlrüben are traditional food, and the "Kohlrübenwinter" or "Steckrübenwinter" is a real historic thing that happened during WWI. The symbolism of this record and its cover is wild

the name of the album, kohlrübenwinter, translates to turnip winter. the turnip winter in germany was an event in ww1 where a large majority of the population either starved to death or nearly did. the only food that was easily available was the turnip, hence the name turnip winter. it was basically the equivalent to the entire population being starved.

i love this album with my whole heart. it gives me good vibes and i can listen to it whenever i want wherever i want. wether it’s summer this album could still be a summer song. like walking late at night in the woods, this album is perfect for it. or maybe winter? perfect album to listen to when it’s snowing and it’s dark outside. i found this album in the beginning of may 2020 and i became obsessed. i’m dissolved to say that i found it on tiktok but the song wasn’t popular at the time and i just fell in love with the song. i can listen to it at any mood. angry sad happy etc this album is perfect. yes i will gate keep this amazing band because i don’t want people to come and ruin their songs with some cringe content because it has happened a few times. although i’m happy the song is on spotify but still gatekeeping this song
