I have hidden disabilities myself. And sadly, some people are very ignorant about hidden disabilities sadly. I've even had professionals or disabled people not being understanding on my hidden disabilities sadly. People with hidden disabilities shouldn't have to explain their issues to strangers.

Same same. My doctor said EDS doesn’t cause pain and that I don’t have anything wrong with me despite POTS and many other things. It’s shocking. I hope you manage to get the help you need!!

Not a Taylor Swift issue. Try any supermarket. Sadly people do judge by the look.

This is all too common for people who have hidden disabilities. Ask anyone who has one and they’ll tell you we encounter issues almost daily. We absolutely need more awareness that hidden disabilities exist and that disability doesn’t just mean wheelchair. It doesn’t help that during the pandemic the sunflower lanyards were used by people who had no genuine reason not to wear a mask but just didn’t want to. I bet some people still see the sunflower lanyards as “faking” or “over exaggerating”.

Challenged when parking in disabled spaces (I can’t drive but partner does), challenged when using a disabled bathroom, challenged when accessing carer tickets for events. This is just part of daily life when you have a hidden disability. Mine is Psoriatic Arthritis plus a few other issues. I’m a 36(F) who looks/moves around quite well but only after meds/pain relief kicks in - if you know, you know!! Unfortunately, like most who are suffering, when not okay, I don’t go out so no one sees the other side. And that’s the problem….they just don’t understand.

Even though I have cerebral palsy which is visible, I have epilepsy too which is classed as an invisible disability and hearing this is so devastating. Honestly. I wish some people could be more kind. I've never really exprienced anything like this at a concert before. But, hearing this is really sad. Everyone who has an invisible disability should be treated fairly.❤

I have a hidden disability (heart issues) and have been told so often "You look okay." "If that was true you'd be in hospital tho?" like okay let me just take my heart out and show you. I do actually carry my diagnosis letter around in the event of these people. Heart issues as a non-overweight young person are very unusual as well so I get the skepticism. In public services however I've been treated wonderfully, I've been offered extra help at airports, and staff at train stations have helped me carry my bags and find me transport home.

Sadly in 2024, there is still so much ignorance about the hidden disabilities ~ many people think to qualify as disabled you have to be sitting in a chair with wheels, it’s not always the case. Carrying a bag / pouch with your supplies in is totally acceptable, most medical supplies pass front door security at concerts / airports nowadays.

@@CookieDee11 mmmm I’m not sure that’s the case. This woman is in her 30s. My friend’s GF is a BIG fan and she is in her 30s. I know someone I used to work with in her mid 20s is a fan. I get that she has lots of child fans but because she first started in the mid 2000 that’s when lots of teen girls are now in their 30s! Exactly the same as Taylor, so it’s like we all grew up together. I’ve never been a big fan, I just watched this for the disability component as I am of the era I sadly know too much about this subject 😹

I’m a bit confused, she’s not in a wheelchair so would should she get a wheelchair ticket, i understand she needs easy access for going to the bathroom, this should be a different type of ticket, right? But if she took the space of someone in a wheelchair i don’t feel that would be right, maybe there needs to be different types of tickets based on the disability.

At the moment the sign of disability is all lumped in with wheelchair users which is the universal sign of disability right now. Another problem, especially with stadiums is that they're not going to cut out another section of seating for disabled people who aren't wheelchair users because they feel they'd lose more money that way and it'd be more work for them. I think one thing that needs to be done, is to change the universal disabled sign. It needs to be something that includes a wheelchair but also indicates invisible/hidden disabilities, and show that it's not always a physical thing. Sometimes it's a neurological one.

@@kjh4496 No, she needs toilet access. Not wheelchair access. Her legs are fine so she doesn't need the physical accommodations that wheelchair users need. Imagine a wheelchair user not getting a ticket because Lip-Filler Lucy wanted to feel special.
@JustAnotherPerson4U
@JustAnotherPerson4U 14 күн бұрын
@@FreePigeon There are plenty of disabled people who can walk and still need the disabled toilet. Maybe they're neurodivergent or have an intellectual disability which makes going to the toilet in a crowded toiley really difficult for them and they cannot do it easily. The extra space in the disabled toilet makes it easier for them to do their business and leave. You're imagining it like non-wheelchiar disabled people just use the disabled toilet like some sort of make up room when that is far from the case.
