The Harbeth's are great! I paired them to PrimaLuna EVO300 pre- and poweramps. Gorgeous sound! The Leben amp sounds great too !

That sounds amazing - what speakers stands are you using? I have just purchased a set of Harbeth SHL5 Plus XD but are looking for stands that I like. I really like yours? Which brand is it or where I can I buy something similar? Many thanks

I connected mine with a pair of Siltech SQ- 88 MK II: perfect. With the slightly warm Harbeth's , a high quality silver cable is preferrable.

How are these new xD compared to the previous 40th anniversary editions?

basically the same speaker. Only difference is the cabinet finish and the binding posts. The XD is basically the finalised production version of the 40th anni.

Anything under 150w with Harbeth is a compromise.

Really ? What model, what type of amp, what roomsize ? Your point of view is rather oversimplified. The Super HL5 plus XD is a very easy speaker for any amp. Coupled with a 2x44W tube-amp the sound is Huges!

That is nonsense. You don’t need a high powered amp to make harbeths sing. What you do need is high quality watts. The Leben 600 as shown here is perfect for the SHL5. For solid state, they sing particularly well with LFD amps from UK.

Lol what? They drive easy as hell. Thsts the most ridiculous thing I've read. They're cake to push. Ans sound great with 30 wpc powered tube Amps.
