Spray your cable with either Gibbs metal protector, lubricant or Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector. The Amsoil product I have used and it works. I also use it for a motorcycle chain lubricant. It goes on wet, to get into nooks and crannies and then dries out. I have never timed the drying action but, usually I don't use the items I spray for at least a day. I have used Gibbs for the first time this year on my freshy and meticulously clean and blasted cast iron differential housing to protect the machined surfaces after the rest was painted. It has been about 3 months and the humidity in my area is usually above 75% and it shows no signs of rust. Gibbs is clear and oily whereas Amsoil is brownish and sprays tacky compared to oil. Amsoil I feel may be the better product if you really want to guard against the seawater doing it's thing. Either would probably need a respray after time. One thing I never understand is how someone will mount a mechanical device and not lubricate it to work better and prevent rust.

so I like videos where a man is actually using the tool he bought like you are in this video. So lots of mechanics buy tools and describe them but theyre mechanics and they know their stuff. I like ta watch a guy like you don't know what hes doin. Its more instructive.
