Bogging down on that concrete because you sank the bit past the end of the flutes. Rule of thumb, always leave 2*diameter of flutes exposed above the hole when drilling (so 3/8" bit = 3/4" of flutes above the hole). If you need to go deeper, get a longer big. Otherwise you're gonna put a bunch of unnecessary stress on the drill, bit and whatever work piece you're drilling into.

Ive been enjoying the Herc tools ive picked up so far, recently caught a deal at HF. I got two 5 AH batteries for $89, i have a wide variety of cordless brands i use black & decker, Milwaukee, skil, Hercules having a bunch of different chargers is a pain sometimes but the herc tools seem good qaulity so ill probably be picking up more in the future just based on bang for ur buck.

I bought the Hercules miter saw several years ago. I was very impressed with it. It was dead on right out of the box I didn't have to do a thing to it. It has a double shadow line on it, very accurate. I took it back & I regretted it. The only reason why I took it back is I moved & I wanted to place it up flush with the wall. I purchased a matabo from Lowes it took allot of messing with it to cut accurate. I would recommend any of the Hurcules line

Some of us actually have to run a 9-10" 3/8" hole through filled cinder block to install a power cord......bogging down to a crawl at 5-6" doesn't cut it. Specs match up as if it's a kobalt XTR, but the ergonomics/clutch settings don't match as the kobalt uses a two stage selector system. Only time I've had the kobalt bog down in concrete was when the battery ran out. New tool....does it have anti-kickback? That's a feature to make it more "pro" level. 1200in lbs of torque can really do a number on the wrists when the tool doesn't stop it when caught by something.

I understand were your coming from and when I can I do the same. But hate to break it to you, but all the brands you just listed copy from each other. Design teams change a few things to get around patents, but thats it. A lot of brands have their products made in china ( i agree this sucks ), the sad truth is that these large mfg outsource to smaller mfg and once they have the process and tech, they start making products for the rip offs. You see this happening with high end machine tool bearings like nsk, literally side by side you cannot tell the difference, its got so bad the only way to tell is to scan the qr code and see if it was registered. Ive worked with chinese mfg in a different industry, and when shopping around we realized that the company we originally had samples made from was outsourcing to another company and marking it up 250%. We could tell because the tooling marks and other witness marks were identical. What Im getting at is these tools are likely made in the same factory as their competitors, to different specifications but very similar. The model in china undermines intellectual property but in return breeds mfg prowess.

The battery life is shit on those. Everyone I've got hasn't lasted 12 jobs. Don't waste your money us this junk. They start losing the ability to take charges. I don't care about the warranty. I need tools to perform when I pull them out. Money is time.
