This thing is very handy and at the price couldn't resist getting it and getting rid of the 2x4's lol.

Yeah but, I'm a Rookie too and have no idea how to operate my ratching cargo bar. I was very disappointed that this guy, above, in the video, didn't explain.

They have two flavors, this one and a cheaper blue one. The cheaper blue one is a giant plastic straw.

I'd be interested in how it holds up long term. I had the same one and it eventually wore out to where it either wouldn't ratchet or lock in place. I forget. I kept it. I'll drag it out and check again and see if I can fix it. I ended up buying a trunk for all my small stuff and a small padlock. I use a tie-down strap to keep it snugged up against the back of the cab so it wouldn't move around or shift while driving.

those 4 holes on the pads, are they there for mounting screws possibly? I may be using for a different idea. 💡

No instructions on how to release the tension to remove it!!! Took me forever to figure it out. Tricky!

Didn’t you mount the bar right where a 2x6 would fit and accomplish the same task?

The 2x6 would not stay with the Bedliner in. And I didn’t want to remove the bedliner, otherwise yes I would have done the 2x6.

They need RUST PROOF SLEEVES in my opinion. Exposure to rain or water, degrade for open truck beds like mine. also now in 2023 I would use square pieces of cardboard to prevent the rubber material from degrading by hot truck metal. thats just me though. I like to stretch what I buy, pun not intended. So when I get one of these Im gonna keep pieces of cardboard on hand just to brace the rubber on each side.. good tool ,, good video ..

I bought 2 last week. They're great cargo bars. FYI, if you would have extended them as far as you could, it would have been tight in 2 clicks.

Will this fit a larger truck ? 1984 k10 ? I hear they work well on small trucks but big trucks.... any truth to that ?

@@hanksgarage_ I received my cargo bar, :( it is too short for the old 84 Chevy k10 .!. (No hard feelings, just though others might want to know) It is about 3”-4” too short. I think it is because the fenders are made out of thicker sheet metal, so it doesn’t have the convoluted multi wall bed sides like the newer trucks with thin metal... it’s however a nice tool. I am going to try to make it a few inches longer and make it work
