Your problem is not the filter drain assy the problem is the hot gas dischsrge bypas valve is out of adjustment or the fan cycling switch is not set correctly but I am happy to see they got you a new dryer.... Take care!

This was a great short video, I could not figure out for the life of me how to take this apart. I thought the ring and top plate were one piece, and was trying to unscrew the bowl cage from it and it was just spinning in circles very difficultly and wasn't loosening up. After seeing this video I realized they are 3 separate pieces. Didn't have same issue ad NYC CNC, my pressure relief disc on top had blown and was leaking air like a previous person. I just bought this and taking it apart getting it ready. Yes, it's extremely hard to get the drain cap off. I thought I was going to break it when I used two huge wrenches on it :p

So how is this thing running for you now? Any more issues with it freezing after this?

I am thinking about purchasing one for my Plasma cutter since I want the air dry, and here in Sacramento, CA, the air contains a lot of moisture. I plan on buying the extended warranty. How is it working for you? Also, do you run all of your air tools using it? Finally if I may, does the unit stay on all the time, or just when the Air compressed powers up and sends air through it? Or do you think a Motorguard M60 filter is sufficient? I use my plasma cutter sparingly. Thanks.

hey John nyccnc off topic question only because you have a plasma table did earth ground the table grate using your existing garage/home etc earth ground or did you put in a separate Iso earth ground? thanks

I just purchased that exact same unit from Harbor freight. I had some problems, wiring was not secured and vibrating and making a buzzing noise, I fix that. Then the automatic air drain bottle has several leaks, and feels like something is broken inside. I could not get it to seal. I had to remove it completely. Not very happy

Yesterday I took the chassis off of my Ingersoll Rand and didn't find a cup like yours shown at 1:55. But I cleaned off any dust I could while in there. I think my problem (with it freezing than low/no air).. was due to the muffler I made for the condensate hose. I re-positioned the condensate hose so that it's flow will not be blocked at all by inserting the 5' long plastic tube inside of a 1/2" diameter copper pipe about 4' long. It makes a loud "snap" sound when it expels water which can be annoying thus why I tried to muffle that sound. If it's still freezing up I'll contact IR with some pics I took while in there because the website does not have my exact model.

Thanks for this, I'm pretty sure this is what is happening to my unit which about the same size, it's an IR but all the vids they posted here are about as helpful as a popsicle stick as a floatation device.

I just got one of these.. is the fan supposed to cycle? or once the pressure switch is activated the fan runs?

Can I buy a replacement one of those water separator valves?

Was your wiring for the power cord correct according to the manual? I cant get the power light on mine to turn on, unless I run the hot/neutral reverse from what they manual says. Could you please let me know.

I need help. Mine turns on but doesn't cool at all. The fan doesn't kick in. The little black tank at the bottom gets super hot. It's not even dirthy because it never worked. Please help.

Reading through the comments, it appears that what you show here did NOT fix the problem that you were having. Is that correct?

When my unit goes to auto drain, the float valve seems to stay open and constantly leaks air, causing the compressor to run continuously until the safety switch trips to turn it off. I have to open the bypass valve and close the inlet and outlet valves for the float valve to reset. I have cleaned the bowl but this keeps happening. Tech support is not much help. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Im on my second one in 3 months !! just got sencond one hooked up..turned air on...air coming out drain hose!!! JUST JUNK>>Sending back .spending more money and getting a good one...
