Here Hard Boiled Haggerty (Dan Stansauk) , El Shereef (Jerry Carroll) & The Preacher (Clyde Steeves, Otto von Krupp, Golden Terror) vs Mr. Moto, Paul Diamond & Enrique Flores from the Olympic Auditorium in a match from the Los Angeles territory. The referee is none other than stuntman and MMA great "Judo" Gene LeBell. This is another piece of rare footage from the Olympic. There are very few matches that survived from the 1960's. Not seen or available since it aired on TV, this is my transfer from the 16mm film I obtained. This is one of my latest purchases that I was able to make thanks to the support of the KZfaq ads and DVD's I sell. Killer Austin was one of the great heels of the 1950's and 1960's. He was a top star across the US and Australia. This match aired on the syndicated TV show Wrestling From the Olympic. Promoter Jules Strongbow does the commentary and Hank Metheny is the referee.
Thank you all for your support, the ad revenue from KZfaq helps me to purchase new films and continue with the transfers and uploads. This film was one of several I was able to obtain. All the films I purchase are made available to everyone who is interested in the Golden Age of professional wrestling. Please continue to support the ads and DVD's

I was just out and about today minding my own magically business. And who did I meet.... The Original Paul Diamond. He was out shopping. He was in a good and talkative mood. Had a fun conversation with him. I took it as a sign from God that I need to workout, pronto.

Nice to see Paul Diamond , he was a big star in the late 60's early seventies in Toronto. He had some sort of a dispute with promoter Frank Tunney and he seemed to disappear.

Around 1970 he wrestled for about a year in the AWA. He feuded with Dr. X and Double X. One night in Milwaukee he teamed up with The Mighty Igor to beat them.

Shereef used to work in Indianapolis back in the 60's underneath, but I never knew who he was or what he looked like. Thanks for posting this.

Haggerty use to brag about how movie directors would come after him in droves, asking him to crawl into bed with beautiful women and ride motorcycles. He said he "I don't need that, these roles must meet with my approval before I accept them ".

Moto a face? I always wondered who first wore that Japanese wrestler in America "uniform."? The two-thirds length tights with the shorts, usually a different color, over them, and bare feet.

I think Tojo Yamamoto did in the 1950s

That was unusual, in '66 most "Japanese" wrestlers were still firm villains. And I remember HB Haggerty, after retiring from wrestling he became a character actor, usually playing bruisers, muscle for villains, an occasional bar-owner, and one or two movie wrestlers

Why no Dick Lane on these? To me he's the Voice of the Olympic, along with Jimmy Lennon.

Never mind. I just got it. I never realized that there was a separate Bakersfield syndicated show. Strongbow promoted there. When we visited B'field--family is from there--in the late 60s-early 70s I could watch Wednesday's live show on KTLA on cable. I am guessing this is pre-cable.

Haggerty always stressed that he was never married to Jayne Mansfield. He said that was Mickey Hargitay. He didn't like to be compared to Yul Bryner either. Haggerty didn't llike those crack the egg jokes as well.

El Shereef is not Malenko at all. It's a guy named Jerry Woods. For a moment I thought it was Tiger Jeet Singh. Malenko was a legend here in Florida so I know who is. Real name Larry Simon. Definitely not him in this match.
