As far as USAIR is concerned, "beginner course" is the parking lot, it's really just there to teach you donuts and smooth figure 8s. It's for figuring out if you belong on the actual track if you're not well known to be a good driver. Intermediate is where you'll spend most of your day if you're a newer driver. If you're a competent driver you will easily get the go ahead to move on to the Advanced course which is the roller coaster. IMO the Intermediate track is harder than advanced. Both are extremely fun and it is one of the best venues in the world for what we do. Club FR holds it down and is one of the oldest and best sanctioning bodies in the US and I highly recommend coming up for an event. Also definitely come up for 8/6 day if you drift an old toyota, RC SUMMIT is all corollas and it gets rowdy.

USAIR is my local track. I have not drove there yet as im setting up my car a bit alligment wise, but yes USAIR has a parking lot skid pad, once you’ve proven vehicle control you go to the beginner track, and after enough experience you can get permission to drive the advanced course.

@@circleofdrift as someone who is trying to get into drifting. If you had to break it down to 3 basic things to have in your mind the first time drifting. I’ll be driving my 91 turbo Miata on coilovers with no angle mods. What should I be trying to learn that first time in the car on track?

@@Blakegenskownot In order of importance: #1 don’t let the jitters get to you, you’re gunna get nervous and that’s normal your first couple events, don’t over think it just go out and try and get comfortable getting the car sideways and trying to find where the car is “happy” at angle. You’ll see what we mean once you’re out there. #2 make sure you do a basic nuts and bolts check on the car. Nothing worse than to break it your first even BUT if it does break don’t get frustrated s*** happens. Make sure you obviously bring what tools you can bring. And a fire extinguisher. Always pack a fire extinguisher, they’re like $19 bucks at Walmart. #3 Don’t let it frustrate you if you don’t “get it” first couple laps. If you spin out (and you will) don’t get upset. Instead try and think about what you did wrong: to much angle, to much throttle, not enough throttle blah blah blah then on your next attempt try and correct whatever you did. #4 and is actually the most important: HAVE FUN. hope that helps man. Noooooo lol just that lap brotha lol you can go as many laps as you want but if you spin two times during a lap you need to pull off so other people get seat time!
