This is a comparison of all the sounds of the HDDs in my hard drive collection. The drives are played in chronological from oldest to newest.

@@Cvanzzz No actually. I learned the reason why i find it nostelgic is because my first gaming pc actually had a barracuda drive in it. And starting it up it would make that sound.

Man even now. I heard my HDD clicking a lil after starting up my pc and hadn't paid attention to the noise so I was concerned for a lil bit especially since it had a bit of a rhythm to it, but hearing a few good drives making the same noise really calmed me down, especially since every program I tried said my drives were good. Love the lil noises they make tho.

@TheDragonFire123 Жыл бұрын
@@KitsunePooper Quite a few modern SSDs use terrible NAND flash; see the Samsung 870 EVO and 980/990 saga for example. I'm not fond of modern SSDs for anything more than boot drives for this reason. I also see no need to be abusive to those who prefer the other storage tech, as well. For sure, you don't get anything like the 870 EVO in a hard drive, barring infant mortality which is normal for both.

SSDs make no sense when all you need is mass storage, like a NAS or a game drive. SSDs are baller as a boot drive tho.
