Hard Gel Sculpts For Everyday Use

So we’re back,
We have Andrea in today and we’re going to do gel nail extensions.
I’ve prepped Andreas’s nails without bleeding Yay and I’m going to start by removing my gloves to put the forms on because the forms will stick to my gloves. I’m then going to apply Nail Prep, Primer and then Bond Booster and I’m leaving the thumb for now.
I’m going to prep my brush with the gel and then do a slip layer of gel, so a thin layer to connect that contact area. I’ll cure that, apply the bulk of my product and then I’m going to encapsulate in clear, curing in between layers. Whilst it’s still warm, I’m going to pinch it to give it a lovely c-curve. I’m going to use clear as my base on the next nail and I prefer that so I’ll repeat on all the nails.
Once all my nails are sculpted I can file the nails and you can finish these with a design or you can just top coat them like I did because it’s already got that lovely shimmer.

I've been a licensed Nail tech for over 30 yrs (semi retired now) and I soooo want my nails done by Kristy! Love her techniques AND she's just lovely to listen to.

I love your work so much and you are so incredible to both watch and listen to. I completely appreciate your models do have their lives to work round but if I was lucky enough to have you doing my nails, I would be like hands down just work your magic, Kirsty. Do whatever your heart desires.

Oh Kirsty lass, this video came at the right time! I’m trying to improve my gel game and when practicing, I managed a full sculpted set at a VERY speedy 4 hours

love gel nails I do them on myself. one suggestion I would make is that you can do is when you do the clear layer after cureing it you can take the form off and you won't have the accident of her hitting the nail on the lamp with the forms on. just a suggestion. I've seen it done by other nail techs.

Please please please consider putting out a video that really shows how to apply sculpting forms for different shapes. I understand it on paper but not in practice

In BC Canada all the nail salons are owned and operated by Vietnamese people, and the nails are usually powder acrylic on a tip. If you ask for gel they will charge you extra for acrylic nails with a gel topcoat. In Vancouver city it’s different but in most of the other cities it’s always acrylic.
