Really?! That's interesting! Did not know something like that exists already! I know that shipping companies, both passenger and cargo, are eager to develop "additional" energy sorces which use wind. Thanks for pointing out the chimney!

I thought the Flettner rotor should push the ship forward and not sideways.

Excellent manouever by the Captain. It isnt easy to stern park with limited space and strong onshore wind. The broad ship side has a very high windage area. The vessel must have an excellent fully equipt handling capabilities.

Stor skillnad på Grace och Amorella, Amo kränger rätt kraftigt medan Grace ser väldigt stabil ut. Utvecklingen har gått framåt helt klart.

@@gamedayswede Stabilisatorer har hon, men tekniken har definitivt förändrats sedan 1988. Det har säkert med byggnadskonstruktionen att göra också.

Joo, meillä puhutaan myrskystä, kun on vähänkään navakampaa tuulta ja jopa vaahtopäitä näkyi merellä. Vilkaisepa täältä, minkälaista on vaikka Pohjanmerellä, kun aallot ovat vähintään 15-20m eli tuollaisia viisikerroksisia taloja ja aallot lyövät komentosillalle asti. Meidän lätäköissä, jos kymmenmetrinen aalto, niin se on melkein hirmumyrsky. Katso vaikka tuollainen 5 big waves you wouldn't believe, niin sitten aletaan kysyä merimiestaitoa.

Amorella is just aground åland. Gabriella is changing Amorella now, but one question, is Gabriella have car deck on deck 5? Both are my favourite vessels. I am from city which has built these beautiful ships. Greetings from Split, Croatia!!!

I would say saving energy cost and pollution to the planet is well worth it. The second thing that popped in my mind after reading this comment was how the titanic didn’t want to run the aesthetics of their ship by having too many lifeboats onboard. At least that’s one of the reasons did I remember for not having enough lifeboats, if it’s correct.

??? It spells e-n-g-i-n-e-e-r-i-n-g e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-c-e and e-n-v-i-r-o-n-m-e-n-t; are any bells tolling out there? By the way, you feel the power standing next to this majestic sail. Diameter 4m and about two revs per sec (!). I didn't believe I'd need to defend that one. Any problems with the S-free LNG tanks at the stern?

The ships look so nice here. Now is this the sea port from where the cruise line begins? Are there many times it us wind here in their starting point were they service? I live the U.S. and I don't see ferries that often. I am into yachts and large cruise/ocean ships.

No, this is where they stop (”half way”) in Mariehamn, Åland (which is a Swedish speaking self governing island belonging to Finland). The boats’ shops are tax free when they stop there because Åland didn’t join the EU tax union.

They are like cruise liners with cabins, casinos, shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, live bands etc, but have a deck for cars and trucks.

Sorry, my last word of my last statement is understanding. In the states here I have seen small platform boats that have cars on them transporting to an island portion like up in UP Michigan and up in the east and as well as in Washington where Seattle is. God Bless the people that still have to travel for work and the hospital worker staff as the world is fighting this global virus.

Im not here to be annoying but just to make it clear: It's doesnt stop not "dont stop" and also it's "arrive" not arrives because remember this: use the word "arrives" when you're talking about one thing (singular) but when talking about many things its "arrive" (plural) so you can fix the title ;) But it's a good video still :)

I'd see that Baltic Princess was on her way to Mariehamn but then it was turning at kobba Klintar and then was supposed to go for Långnäs but turned there also so she didn't go to Åland at all.
