I've always thought Jerry had the appearance of a bouncer, just someone you wouldn't want to cross. The hummer-tire deadlift competition between Jerry & JF was legend:) Good times......

I know Brian Shaw has a physically intimidating physical appearance. However, he doesn't exactly have an intimidating look on his face. Jerry, on the other hand, looks legitimately intimidating.

I started following the sport when Eddie broke the dead lift record and watching Pritchett compete against him I said to myself “he will be the next one to break it” if not for injuries he probably could have.

Hearing both Jerry and Brian saying the same thing I'm doing, and have been doing for the past year, basically eschewing everything but necessary (work, food, sleep, training and in my case my kids), actually solidifies my resolve as I'm training to get that u100 kg Finnish strongest man title before I turn 50 (I'm 40 now).

I'm a big fan of the sport. As someone who doesn't aspire for the "Strength" lifestyle, many of the discussions still resonate with me. I went back to school in my late 20's to get away from a dead-end job. I worked full time, and went to school full time. It took dedication and hard work, and it PAYS OFF. I'm sure this podcast will inspire people to strive for greatness, and like Brian always says "Put in the work!"

It's surreal that we're living the days of "the greats" that will be spoken of for the rest of history. As the strongman sport continues to grow, the athletes that were around when the core fan base were the only fans are going to be remembered the most. It's a shame strongmen haven't been remunerated properly in the past, but I hope they all know their legacy is exactly the legacy of the sport.
