Interesting stuff! One thing I find interesting/disappointing/frustrating about British Asian representation (on a wider scale) is how there seems to be a dearth of LGBTQ+ rep and how we navigate this intersection within our communities It’s an aspect that often gets overlooked. Partly because being a queer Asian often comes with a lot of shame attached to it, how you’ve “failed” to live up to your family’s expectations etc, which definitely goes hand in hand with how some of us will feel the pressure to carry out the wishes of our parents instead of our own imo

I think it would be interesting to get a Jewish historian on your show to try and get a perspective on being a minority in Europe over a long period. Or a Roma historian. Then you can compare and contrast what is unique to this time and your community. It would be interesting. A fine interview and commendation to Hardeep Matharu for sharing her story.

Whenever a cultural minority, regardless of phenotype, lives among a majority culture, it will encounter conflicting situations, and one way or another one has to conform (When in Rome...). It happens everywhere and it is NOT a European-caused phenomenon. Let us live, let live, and look forward to the beauty of life striving for a community where the opportunity for freedom, joy and prosperity are strong.

One of the cameras used in this video is 4K/SSD, but I also used an iPhone for some shots. I’ve since upgraded to another 4K camera, so the quality should be consistent in future videos. Thanks for your understanding!
