Bet it'll happen soon. Bunch of parents right now raising crazy kids after they themselves had to many safety rules. When you have a wild child that actually takes care of their body they'll try to fly as far as they can and do as many spins before touching the ground for a moment. Everyone from the 90s has to many broken bones and make sure their kids are covered in safety. But in the mean time probably aren't together to do the parenting :{} I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of this decade; Someone actually attempts to do a drop-in off of a sky scraper onto a mega-ramp. With enough nets and padding for practice runs why wouldn't someone try that if we already have people free climbing up and then base-jumping for fun. BMX would be way more entertaining if people were using pads. They'll go faster and do bigger things. It's not very bad ass breaking your shins in half.... It hurts, and if it's not your direct face making the impact people will usually laugh at the "bail" while you just broke 3 ribs and need to maintain the super ego.

If you look at the history of severely injured pros, the ones who wore full face are often the ones who had the brain injuries. Scotty Kranmer, Brett Baniewizc, Dave Mirra. More likely to not be able to spot the landing and crash than when wearing a regular helmet. So for trick bmx, at least, the regular helmets seem safer.

​@tylerstannard4670 To my knowledge Scotty was not wearing his full-face during his crash, and Brett Banasiewicz only started wearing full-faces after his crash, he was wearing one of those uncertified squishy barely protective pro-tec helmets when his crash happened

Modern full faces are just as light and you can see perfectly fine. It's all an image thing if your not wearing one in 2023. Pretty sure a modern ones weighs as much as the jaw guard on my one from 1998.

went OTB riding on the road and slammed face first on the ground.... Broke a couple teeth that I had previously broken in another crash... thankfully I avoided the hospital, but dentists are expensive.

yeah my friends were there we were in HS...and they thought he was gonna die on impcat...the whole crowd was already hyped to see some buck skating...and the second he came off lip....far out/off the ramp....everyone gasped/went silent as he was mid air/free fall...and silent till he got up/walked away..so gnarly a rollercoaster of emotions...im kinda glad i bailed on that/later in the day event and went home NGL.

Matt Christopher is a local legend where I’m from (Lake Township OH) I played youth football and he was one of my coaches and Marcus did some tricks on their backyard ramps during an end of season party. Didn’t realize at the time how well known he was.
