This VW Camper Van Vlog visits Hardraw hamlet, near Hawes, Yorkshire and Hardraw Force Waterfall, England's highest single drop waterfall. My sister joins me for the first time and we stay at the Old Hall Cottage Campsite for 1 night. We wander around St Mary & St John Churchyard, a location used in the TV series All Creatures Great & Small, and enjoy an evening meal at the charming 13th Century Green Dragon Inn in the village. Later, we spend the evening in the van chatting and listening to music. After breakfast the next morning we head off back home to Lancashire. Another great night's getaway!

Hi, I’m Sue from Lancashire in England.
This channel is just me getting out and about in a converted VW Campervan, occasionally with friends but mostly solo. Fun, laughs, moans, groans, mistakes, and successes. It’ll all be in here!
I’ll share new places, hints, tips, any info I discover and whatever else I think you might find useful.
I’ve begun vlogging my solo travels in ‘Vanya’, to help me re-engage with life after losing my husband 2 years ago. Working through my grief has been the hardest & loneliest challenge imaginable. Some days it still knocks me completely sideways, maybe it always will? I really don't know, but I'm coping a little better all the time.
By returning to the vanlife we enjoyed so much together, revisiting a love of photography, and immersing myself in nature, I’m regaining strength, balance, and hope to move forward through this completely unforeseen next chapter of life.

Nice to see the green dragon pub again. We as bikers in the 80’s used to camp outback near the fall and we had great times, and a bit wild. I took my wife, then girlfriend, there but never made it as we got stuck in the river at Hawes in a bloody car lol. Yes it was flooded and no I didn’t see the sign ! Hiya, unfortunately the site we stayed at lists on its website that it isn't suitable for caravans or motorhomes, just campervans and tents. I will add that into the video description. The hamlet is only a mile and a half from Hawes C&MH Club site though (lovely site), or 1.2 miles from Shaw Ghyll Caravan & Camping Site (never stayed here), so plenty more options. Have a great weekend 😀

We love Hawes! We were there in April. You had considerably warmer weather than us 🤣 The campsite was so pretty, but I felt your frustration with the watered down soap. It’s a big no-no for Mrs Slaw. The same as the chippy that waters down the vinegar 😡

It’s such a beautiful town isn’t it. Hardraw is also worth visiting and walking around including the waterfall. The Green Dragon pub is lovely for food and drink too. The campsite was perfectly located but the lack of proper door locks and the handwash being as thin as water was disappointing. I emailed thanking them a lovely stay and politely feeding back the problems we noted. Not had a reply 😆

I'm reminded of visiting a Fish & Chip Cafe in Whitby, the Ketchup that was served with our meals was appallingly watery and we were charged 10p a sachet for the better quality stuff! Possibly the only example I've ever come across of northern folk being tight. IMHO the best chippy in the country is up that way, in Angel Lane, Penrith
