For anybody who's still struggling: It took me about an hour to figure out, that your device has to be connected to a PC/Notebook of some kind for this to work. Connecting it to a Power-Supply did NOT work - it has to be a device of some kind. Then (if Tablet is switched on) Press the Sidebutton + Volume down to shut down the device. After a few seconds it should show the "normal" loading screen. Then press Sidebutton + Volume up to restart. If you see the Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite Screen you can let go.

@@sleepingproblems9060 Maybe you took too long to switch to Sidebutton + Vol up? I believe it's exactly 8 seconds until the device restarts and then you have to instantly switch. Also make sure the device is connected via usb to a pc of some kind. In my case I connected it to my iMac. Also make sure you haven't connected it to a usb-hub or something like that.

Thank you so much! I just bought a new Galaxy Taba 10.1 and it set a security pin unrelated to any pins I had, I didn't have a pin for this device and was locked out. I went to the Samsung website and the tech was not able to help. I tried other methods and they did not work. Your method was great!

**ATTENTION** I have a solution if you end up stuck in "SS RDX" mode 1. Once in SS RDX Mode plug USB Cable from Tablet to a Laptop or Computer 2. Press and hold both power and volume down until the screen exits SS RDX and you see black 3. As soon as you see black, while still holding the power button, press volume up and it should take you to the recovery menu I took me a few times but I was able to get it after roughly 20 attempts

This is what worked for me. Once you see the Samsung logo, you need to hold volume up until you see the recovery screen

2:22 I was doing this blind because of broken screen and I have connected my tab so with a portable monitor with Full featured USB-c cable. And it's works. Couldn't bypass the lockscreen that's why I decided to make a factory reset. Blind 🤣 First try and you were guiding me through this. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

After wasting an hour trying to do this, and failing, I read some of the comments and came up with these steps for resetting a Samsung SM-P615: 1) Plug it into a PC with a charging cable, 2) Hold down the power button to reset it (with or without pressing and holding the volume down button), 3) Once it's powered off, hold down the power button only until it starts booting up, 4) As it starts to boot up, once you see the Samsung logo, press and hold the volume up button until you see the recovery screen. 5) Use the power up and power down buttons to cycle thru the options, then press the power button to select your choice. Good luck!!!

Worked for me. Plug it into a laptop/pc, not the power outlet. Follow his instruction exactly. Then when rebooting, it takes about 5 min on the Samsung screen, and then it starts back up.

Hi my tablet locked me out by changing the pattern unlock after 11 months of using the same one! Tried this method and got as far as the Samsung Tab A showing up on the screen but no option came up to reset using volume keys? Thanks

Wow, not sure what happened, tried again then it asked for the pattern, said it was wrong so did it again and it said restarting and let me in phew! Bizarre, SAMSUNG SORT THIS OUT!

that part work...but you will be asked for a pin....and thats the reason you factory reset in the 1st place

to whoever might be in a situation of tablet locked, and can't shut. And the above doesnt work: just connect the device via cable to a pc and pwr+down, as soon as the screen goes black pwr+up and it goes into recovery. it worked for me, i hope it can for u too.

how about watchdog reset bro? My Samsung tab s6 won't go to recovery mode after Holding power button and Volume UP,it appears on the screen.. "SS RDX" "Watchdog RESET"

Very frustrating indeed. I tried over and over to no avail, and the only time that I could get it to work first try was by having my Tab s6 Lite plugged into the PC with USB cable.

I got one used, did the factory reset and when it reboots it says it was factory reset, enter a password I don't have to unlock it.

you did not show how to bypass the owners account login. my dad passed away and left me a samsun galaxy tab a 32gb and although i factory reset it now it require orginal owners account which i cant get into because he died and didnt leave me the info.

For me it does not work. Instead of showing me the hard reset screen, it shows the Samsung logo after the Android one, and resets normally. Can't find a way to let me reset it completely :(

So I just kept doing the same thing over and over and left it for a bit whilst looking at other tips... Then it was on THIS menu after I'd left it alone during an attempt. Not sure how this was different but it worked. Thanks!!!
