I don't like this run. But I'm posting it anyway, for a snapshot of day 1. There's plenty to do, lots of time to shave, I'm pretty sure it'll be possible to get this under 15 minutes as there's a lot of optimising possible.
Let me know in the comments if you'd like commentated runs, I added a few thoughts in post when editing in the music (I play without, but feel it's good background for vids)

Casual shipbreaker here. This is absolutely insane, and the fact that you want to shave off time makes it even more insane

Thanks! The front section is really messy, and is definitely causing me some speed issues. This run was the first mostly successful one I'd done on the ship, about 4 hours after the ship became available... There's so much time in it. (I'm a RACE Speedrunner... I'll never be happy)

I play this super casual, usually with a cold one, to wind down. Watching you go is amazing lol

Perfect way to play, to be honest. Though I'd keep it non-alcoholic, to steady my aim. :)

Seems like the work to disassemble the middle cage probably isn't worth it, right? Can pull the major components out and then just shove the whole thing in the furnace? Your split on those 4 rods is pretty slick, though. gotta try that. The move to crack the front to rip out reactor and the ECU was pretty majestic. I've seen some folks pretty high on the leaderboard with upwards of 20% mass remaining with 0 penalty, so I gotta assume there's a lot of time to be shaved (and time bonus to be gained) by not bothering with everything, but I can't seem to help trying to 95% haha. I find myself taking an whole aluminum section full of barge-destined things and shoving it straight into the green, but I can't tell if that's good or bad for the races which I'm kinda new to.

I found the using Demo charges on the keel on the front sections will let you split the outer hull like a clam shell and a few tethers can quickly get them sent into the processer. I think I usually melt the big Aluminium inner rings also to make it work. From the there sectioning the inner hull is easy

I need to learn to put Discord on Streamer mode when I'm recording. Setup is recording a video capture on another PC, so it doesn't automatically switch on the gaming pc.

Okay, so you clearly know this game well. What's the point of the beam length upgrade past like the first or second tier? It's long enough to reach the ship from the HAB, why would I want it any longer? Theres like 4 more tiers to it.

I guess that its part of the "no-one ever said it had to be safe" schtick the game goes with. RACE uses about the 2nd or 3rd upgrade so it's definitely not necessary.
