World class DJ, Robbert van de Corput, known to the world as Hardwell, sits down with Zane Lowe to discuss his eighth studio album, ‘Rebels Never Die.’
Hardwell explains that his touring days had serious ramifications on his health and well-being, so he made the unpopular decision to take a serious sabbatical in 2018. After getting into the scene at the very young age of 14, Hardwell took a step back to focus on himself.
After a period of evolution and growth, Hardwell returns to the Dutch dance music scene with new tracks and a fresh perspective. Hardwell understands that EDM music is deeply influenced by environmental factors, but has learned to create the music he believes in, despite public opinion.

hardwell is the greatest comeback in the edm scene. been listening to him since the bigroom house days and his new take on techno was surprising to see. the level of quality and detail in his production is unmatched. toronto has a big scene for this kind of music and i think he can make a mark on toronto

Amazing story.. Now i can realize why hardwell changed all of his production direction. He's just want to challenge himself, innovating new sound, reflecting to his earlier days of production about why he's decided to jump into EDM world. He's stop making the "same formula" like his bigroom and he's also changes his live performance material. I respect this decision and best of luck for him as always.. 👍🔥🔥

A year later, Hardwell has fused his new signature big room techno sound with other genres such as uplifting trance (e.g. Miracle remix), tribal house (e.g. Balança), Melbourne bounce (e.g. Twisted), tech trance (e.g. Revolution), and rawstyle (e.g. Judgement Day). He is also showing signs of his old big room sound with “Oldskool Sound” (yet to be released)

well it was worth it because his new sound is so amazing he is a huge inspirational person and artist to millions of people including me that’s why I will never stop and give up I started learning like you with turntables by myself and when I was 17 was playing at clubs all over Israel I am in the process of producing music at a studio in my city I stopped making music for a few years until now I have a nice amount of people that fallow me at the end of the day you are who you are and nobody else can take that away from you love you bro 😎 so happy for you and that your back we will hopefully meet one day

Hardwell is so right in what he says and I'm so glad he's making the kind of music he really wants to hear and make us all hear in this new era of his career. As Hardwell says and I think we all agree on that: when you support an artist, it really doesn't matter what music they make, you will always be there to support them and see them grow, because the admiration for that person goes beyond a musical genre, it is Robbert Van De Corput whom we really admire as a person and example who is to never give up when we have a big dream that we want to achieve… Very inspiring interview Robbert🤍

Man i had such a great festival at misteryland 2023! Hardwell was really great !! glad for this interview! I truly understand Robert! Its good that he doesn’t stay the same. Everything changes eventually. To stay true to yourself is more important than losing some fans! You can’t please everyone all the time ! Always stay true to yourself in the process!

I remember we’re at 2022 ulta Miami me and my girl were so exciting to see hardwell,, you know Hardwell’s come back in ultra Miami made him the headliner of ultra Miami 2022, but then we got super mad at hardwell cause of the new style he played, the stage was packed af in the beginning everyone were expecting him played the vbigroom energetic stuff but then 20 minutes into his set people were starting to leave the main stage,but in my mind I was still hoping he would play the bigroom stuff till 40 in his set but man…
