Very helpful video - only difference on my install was my truck (2500) using the 3-wire kit instead of the 2-wire. Supplied constant power same as you via the UGDO F3 fuse and used the MISC R/C F23 fuse for the switched power lead. Thanks for posting!

There's no reason to strip the additional panel below for a ground - there is a ground bolt to the right of the fuse panel, it's tucked behind the wiring bundle. You also do not need to remove the handle or disconnect the battery. There is a perfect pathway for wiring behind the seal, then behind the top of the handle trim, then across the header at the top of the windshield. Clean install, half the work.

Airbags can retain power for up to 20 minutes after disconnecting the battery. FYI

Excellent video!!! I have a 2021 Camry but also have the exact same dashcam as you so this was a nice tutorial to get mine hard wired as well. Even though we have different vehicles, they're all the same setup. Fuses are fuses, and setups are exactly the same. Just in different locations.

Just got done installing my dashcam. I used f3 for constant and f20 for acc. The source of 12v dc is coming from the lower pin on f3. So your fuse tap should be orientated the opposite way if im correct. Thanks for the video

Have you had any problems with the battery and Dash cam with hard wiring it in? I have a Mini Garmin and it keeps draining my battery so I have to unplug it when parked. I bought the wiring sensor for the camera/battery and still have problems. I will try the F3 tap like you have and see how that works. By the way I have a red 2021 Tahoe High Country that I have blacked out everything.

So I had the dash cam installed on my wife’s Subaru and hardwired but it drains the battery in park mode. It’s suppose to stop getting power from the battery once it detects it’s getting low🤷🏽‍♂️

I'm just installing my vantrue N4 in my 2022 Silverado using this video for guide. Doesn't work ! hardwiring the usb C to a 12v fuse didn't power on the dash cam. I check the vantrue 12v cigarette connector it output 5v 3.5A. How your's work?

Did you use a low voltage indicator just in case the battery is low and you don’t want the camera draining your battery. Also what fuse did you use again? I have a Chevy Silverado 2019 and think I need a dash cam. Even rear view.

Does your 2021 use the 3 prong fuse? My 2023 Silverado has the 3 prong fuse and Vanture Support is confused by my question.

I used fuse F3 on my 2021 Silverado and my dash cam wired with a smart harness, shuts down every time I stop and the auto stop kicks in. I have to disable auto stop for my dash cam to continue recording as im driving. I need to find another fuse or figure out why this is happening.

May be a stupid question and you may have covered it. But being on a continuous fuse have you not had battery issue?

I had my camera installed at a shop. It doesn't power on or catch movement in parking mode while the car is off, otherwise the camera works great. It has to be hooked up to the wrong fuse or is the camera defective?

I have a 2021 yukon denali and my fuse box is the same setup as your Silverado. The F3 fuse you used, do you know if it is a switch or constant fuse wire? Also does your camera stay on 24/7 and does it run your car battery down. I have the same Vantrue 4 with hard wire kit and trying to install myself but I had trouble finding the right fuse to tap into with the add a fuse. So I am thinking of using the F3 fuse you used.

notice you didn't have Mic turned on. see you talking as if your talking about camera but hear nothing. also don't care for recording inside truck I only care about what going on outside. I guess if someone was putting the hurt on you inside you'd have that for court. hard wire set I've seen had 2 wires besides the ground wire to plug in fuse box. maybe yours is just different. what size SD card did you use?
